In Short – Pictures of famous revolutionaries line the walls of this small place just off Federal Street. Customers seat themselves, either at one of the wooden booths arranged in rows, or at one of the tables in the back. Meals start with complimentary chips and a delicious spicy salsa packed with cilantro and citrus. The menu includes tacos carbon, enchiladas smothered in spices and peppers and chuletas a la Mexicana: pork chops steeped in a spicy sauce.
Used to live near it - now it's worth the drive

Like most of the other reviewers, my wife and I have been here many times and overall love this place. We used to live right by it - now we've moved but make the drive oh about once a month. If you've never been just go check it out. You won't regret it.
A few words of constructive criticism: The salsa is simply too hot - and I'm not afraid of heat either (I use hot sauce all the time). Pretty quickly you simply can't eat it, and nevermind if your meal is also spicy. Also the steak can be quite tough at times - I still get it because I love the sauce but it would be so much better with a tender steak. Overall these are not nearly enough to keep us away. :)
- Pros: Overall great food, good service, and reasonable prices
- Cons: Salsa, steak

This is the best Mexican food in Denver, no question!! Quality ingredientes, great guac, great spicy salsa, great food! Go at lunch and get the special. $6 for a great plate of food and a beverage. You can't beat it. Their corn tortillas are awesome, the make the home made in the store. I work in the neighborhood and go at least twice a week. The staff is not so good about refilling your drinks, so you have to stay on them.
- Pros: The food is great. The servers are very nice. Go, I promise you'll love it.
- Cons: nothing really.
Best Mexican Food ever! But - the service can be bad - read the rest.

One of the greatest true Mexican restaurants ever. The food is fantastic and the portions are above average. My only complaint is that the food is so good that the waiters are the equilavent of the soup (It won't let me spell the N with the A with the Z with the I) on Seinfeld. I love the food and only return because of it. The waiters conveniently forget to refill the chips or drinks or whatever. BUT, dang, the food is soooooo good. I'm surprised that they still have the same people running the place. We've been going there since 1985 and not much has changed.
- Pros: Cheap, Great Food, Spicy Salsa
- Cons: Service needs to be improved but the food makes it worth it!
