A welcome addition to the neighborhood

Living right around the corner I'm so happy that someone stepped in and fixed up Billy's. It's a great neighborhood spot with friendly staff and friendly patrons.
My one complaint is the food prices seem to be a lot higher than equivalent bars. $8.45 for 7 tiny little wings is ridiculous, it doesn't even qualify as an app. My friends won't even join me there for wing night anymore.
- Pros: Friendly Neighborhood Bar
- Cons: Food Prices

I have to admit that I thought this place would be a dump, even after I was told it had been totally overhauled. But I was wrong- it's a cute little spot with a decent little menu, including drinks and wine. I would say it has a bit of an identity issue- I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a bar with food, or a restaurant with a bar. The food is good if a tad overpriced and leans towards Mexican and burgers. I like the seafood options and had very good mahi and shrimp tacos, which are sold a la carte. I hope to go back and try a mojito and I thought the wine list was pretty ambitious for such a small place. The bathroom is a nightmare, though, in terms of size and whatever you do, don't sit on the patio when it's cold out. They blast it with heat to the point that you feel like you're on the inside of a hair dryer!
- Pros: good tacos
- Cons: the bathroom, parking, very hot patio
Great Place - Bad GM

I love the location as it is in the "hood" and the renovation is great.
The only thing I would say is keep your distance from "General Manager Christopher". He may seat you when you arrive and he is all about turning tables. We had a large group reserve a table (seats 12) for my wife's 40th bday. Billy's is first come first serve and I understand that. I arrived 15 min early to try and get a table near the reserved table because we had about 20 people for dinner. I was told - "sir, you're going to have to move". Turned out OK in that we got the table but this guy is a total clown and I spent the evening trying to not make him spread his bad vibe...
The staff is great including the servers and bartenders. The bad vibe from Christopher didn't prevent us from having fun. Go to Billy's, but tell Mr. Manager to back off and word travels fast. I have told the party of 20 to boycott Billy's until he is removed or has a serious talking to.
- Pros: Great staff
- Cons: GM Christopher
