the best selection of micro brews i have found in denver. high end wines to match. AND the staff know their business. there is usually someone there who has tasted whatever i am questioning. exceptional service.

Mondo Vino is what every wine shop aspires to be! Duey has created an environment which is an absolute pleasure to work and shop in. As a former employee, I can honestly say that I have never worked for anyone as dedicated to the pursuit of excellence as Duey is. This shop is one of a kind. Located in a great neighborhood, with knowledgeable staff, a beautiful interior and an owner who treats his customers and staff with dignity and respect. But most of all...he offers an incredible selection of wine at an honest price (when is the last time you went into a wine shop and found a bottle of wine with a $12 price tag...not $11.99?). That's honesty! The prices may be a little more than your average liquor store...but he stocks only the best wine available...and sometimes quality costs a little more. As for employee turnover, it's probably because Duey's employees are some of the most sought after in the wine business. I have never regretted a moment spent in his employ. I can honestly say, Mondo Vino is a gem in a sea of mediocrity.

I love this place. The layout is quirky but gets you to look outside of what you would normally pick. Instead of putting the wines into regions or types, they are spread out. This may seem frustrating but instead it always gets me to try something new. And the staff is so helpful - if you can't find what you want, just ask. They also do wine tastings on the weekends. I've never gone to a tasting and not ended up buying at least one of the wines they have you try. Give it a try, you might find something new!
