Editorial Review for Children's Museum of Denver – by Diana Murphy
In Short
This museum is a great place for educational, hands-on fun for kids and their grown-ups--especially on snowy, rainy or bitterly cold days. The bright, multicolored museum is appropriately located near the Denver Aquarium and Six Flags at Elitch Gardens amusement park. Exhibits include a variety of "playscapes"--areas designed to challenge kids mentally and physically. Popular activities include storytelling for toddlers and preschoolers and plays at the Children's Museum Theater.

We took our 4 year old son to the Children's Museum after viewing their website. Thinking that $7 was a good deal, we went around 11:30 AM on a Saturday. This turned out to be a mistake. First of all, this place was completely overrun by kids. I understand that this is the purpose of a children's museum but it was not equipped to handle but a fraction of the visitors. Second, this place was severely understaffed. There was no order. We spent most of the time searching for an opening. If your child is not highly aggressive, they will not enjoy themselves as they will not get their turn in any of the rooms. And do not count on the parents as it seemed they merely dropped off their kids and kept no watch over some of these very rude and misbehaved children. The only saving grace was a firetruck on the bottom floor that our son was able to play on. The idea was great but at the end of the day, we ended up with a son who was very dissappointed. I would recommend that if you wish to visit the Children's Museum to try to do so during the week, perhaps it will not be as crowded.
Pros: Building look great to kids during the approach
Cons: Crowds, understaffed, not enough stations to accomodate

I've been taking my daughter to this museum since she was six months old. She's loved it every time. We can spend two or three hours there (and that's a long time for a baby) and she dosen't get bored at all. If you go early the museum isn't that crowded even on Saturdays. They have special activitys every day of the week. I'm excited to see how my daughter continues to enjoy and explore this wonderful museum as she grows older.
Pros: Good from birth up, Good value, Free Parking
Cons: Restaraunt Selection
