The food was terrible!!! The food made Taco Bell seem like a four star restaurant. The building is cool and the entertainment was cheesy, but alright. They really need to work on the food, it was the worst mexican food I have ever had!!
My detailed BAD expierence – It looks nice from the outside...then you walk into a dark entrance and don't get greeted by anyone. Next you have to walk through a very long dim hall way.
You get to a "cashier" and order before you get to your table. The cashier will not tell you how much you owe because you pay later and it is NOT on the reciept.
next you walk through another long maze of chained dim pathways to a door area where they give you the food you ordered and your drinks on a tray.
Then somehow your supposed to manage carrying your own heavy trays full of drinks and food and carry your 1 year old and handle your other children while pregnant-up a steep twisty incline in yet another dim hallway to yet another person who will take you to your seat......whew....
my husband and i orded the all you can eat chicken dinner and they only gave us HALF of what it is supposed to come with. i told this to the server and she said you have to spicificly say you want the other stuff or you dont get it even though you pay for it.
The entertainment is ok for a bunch of 5 and 7 year olds but for adults it is cheezy and boring. The arcade is full of dated games, the cave is stupid and half the games they had only take quarters. So i bought their expensive tokens and ended up useing quarters instead- BIG RIP OFF-
The food is BAD- its worse then bad and it is way over priced for what it is. Toco Bell has much better food for lower prices. this CRAP is loaded with tons of salt and it is obvious that it is all instant. I gave mine to my husband because I could not eat it.
The whole place is very run down and dated. They brag that they built it without useing blue prints, and it is soo obvious because things are falling apart and it looks cheap. Also it is not clean and my sons highchair had someone elses left over food on it and the bottle of honey, salt and pepper were sticky and had fingerprints.
Bottom line I will not go back .
Food is disgusting and over priced.
It is not a clean well kept or friendly place at all.
It is a huge rip off.
The entertainment they brag about is mediocre at best.
I wish i could give it a half star because it does not even deserve a full star.
Food is horrible!!! – They made me buy food for my kids(4 years and 23 months) witch they did not eat because they are at the age that they want Mommy or Daddy's food! It was very hot and humid, we were sweating. The food was really gross we all felt really sick the next day! Our bill was $68 WOW!!! The only thing that was good was the show and water fall oh and the sopapilla's! The cave was boring and the arcade is just to small!!! I will NEVER go back again!
Just need better food – cool place just need to make better food for petes sake.
It's not about the food, it's about the fun – I remember going to Casa Bonita every year with my family as a kid and loving it. I recently went back... what happened to the food? Was it always that bad? Maybe kid's a different set of taste buds and think it's good, I don't know but the reviews comparing it to TV-dinners are being kind. This is a unique creation designed to assault the pallet and anger the digestive tract!!! Enough about the food, on to the fun. I'd gladly pay a few $$ just to get in without having to order a plate of @#&* for the atmosphere, CB is a pretty fun place to go, even now as an adult. I think I'll keep going. Not for the food, but for the fun and getting to be a kid again.
I have taken many children, groups of children, our out-of-state visitors, and my family to Casa Bonita repeatedly for over 30 years. Everyone has enjoyed it and been greatly entertained! Both my g'children live out-of-state and we can't wait to take them to Casa Bonita this summer! I am a long-time fan of Casa Bonita!
Tragedy – Ever heard the term "You can put whip cream on a turd, but its still a turd." This term applies to Casa Bonita. Learn this lesson, parents will only get hosed one time for the love of there kids, before they implement the distraction method. A little slight of hand and $10, my daughter will gladly take a happy meal and some fun in the play area. Although, I would gladly buy her a full size pony before making me take her back there again. I'll do almost anything before going back there again. You can take your automatic cheese pumps, cold expensive food, and start a line a frozen dinners, but please don't charge me $18. On a lighter note, my sopapilla was good.
What a joke! – So after living in Denver for many years I finally gave in and decided to head to Casa Bonita to see/hear what many locals rave about. Needless to say, I wished I had held out a little longer. The food is the worst ever. It was an $11.99 tv dinner. Honestly it was so much worse that I ended up with an upset stomach afterward. To top it off a fountain drink will cost you $2.50 and its a regular sized drink. Do yourself a favor and skip this ridiculously overpriced establishment. Never again will I pay $80 for beyond crappy food!! (total for 4 people) And don't believe what you hear about the sopapillas, they are just as bad. Edible but bad. I give it a one star rating for the sopapillas as they are the only thing that's edible.
Save your money. it was awful – we went to the one in Denver on sat. wow there food has went down hill. it actually just tasted like you bought a microwave mexican dinner and threw it in the microwave. people are so packed in there its not a great atmosphere. people go from table to table trying to sell you toys. even when you say no they come back to bother you. as a warning, don't go. just go to taco bell. the food there is much better.
The worst Mexican food ever – Upon our Saturday night visit to Casa Bonita, we were herded like cattle through a maze of twists and turns only to find that for $12.95 we got a cateteria style plate of subpar "Mexican" food. The enchiladas were smothered in some form fake processed cheese that even the 8 year olds turned down. Dinner for four with 2 kids was $75 including tip and tokens for the arcade. Half of the arcade games were not in service. The atmosphere was the highlight of the experience. The entertainment was parralleled with 5 stops on the way home to various restrooms around town. Do yourself and the kids a favor and take them to Taco Bell and go to Dave & Busters. Your stomach, wallet and kids will thank you. We won't be going to Casa Bonita EVER again.
