view & uploadGreat Pizza. I grew up in Denver and the Edgewater Inn has made one of the best pizzas in Denver for as long as I can remember. After I got married my husband and I would get one of their pizzas about twice a month. I moved from Denver about twenty years ago and I still think about their pizza and wish I could get one. Great pizza.
Great White Pizza, Nicest People, Good Service. Pizza served hot and by a friendly waitstaff. Our group of ten enjoyed the experience and will go back again.
Great Pizza Joint!. Edgewater Inn has the best pizza ever! The crust/sauce/toppings mix is absolutely perfect. The environment is fun and relaxed. A little crowded on the weekends, but it's just a testament to how great their pizza is. I recommend the Sweetness.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. North Denver neighborhood bar serves "scooners" of beer and locally famous pizza pies in a rustic atmosphere.
Killer pizza, Great staff. Go back in time to a killer place. Small old time bar with a midwest feeling. They have a great patio that is open all year; inclosed and heated in the winter. The staff makes you feel welcome and they have great friendly bartenders. The pizza is amazing try the howdy pizza. They are always busy and the pizza may take a bit but it is worth the wait. The same family has owned it since the 50s....great neighborhood place! They also have busses that will take you to and from Invesco during bronco games for a small fee......check it out ! you will love it!
Now, thats what I'm talkin about..... As you maybe know, Food Snobs a Native and been eatin pizza everywhere in this great Cow Town since he was a kid..... 50 + yrs. There are so many good joints and each one so different. This spots been around as long as I have, same owners ... and I dont think the pizzas changed alot except ingredients have continued to be better. Always consistant, always good service and always friendly. This small neighborhood spot tends to pack um in, but , you can always get a seat. The "Specialty" pizzas are pretty good, and just a tad different than the ordinary. I kinda tired of the HOWDY SPECIAL some years ago, and now just build my own. Mrs Food Snob's favorite thing here is the salad and I agree. They are fresh, crisp and huge. A couple a salads, a small pizza and 2 or 3 cold beers makes for a terrific weekend lunch at this hidden spot in North Denver.
nice place to relax by yourself or with friends. I lived in Edgewater for 10 years, so I am a little bias. Even though their pizza in my opinion is alright, overall it is pretty good. one thing I do like is the scooners of beer. if you are a beer lover, you will understand. it not the bright cheery place a lot of the restaurants are now a days. in fact you might call it a little rustic. to me that is appealing. the staff have always been nice to me. on a friday night, it is warm and inviting. gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling (or is that the scooners of beer. LOL) I went there after my nieces wedding, and they were having edgewater days. definitely one of the best memories of my life. I will never forget it. mike
Usually great pizza, sometimes only fair. When the pizza is good, its great. On the occasional bad days, its barely average. Same with the service - sometimes fast and friendly. Sometimes both you and the staff are sorry you're there. Mikey's on 38th is slightly better, but slower and more pricy. I've been eating there for well over forty years. When I was a kid, it was consistantly great and service was always wonderful. The old man did everything right. Just not what it used to be. But, all things considered, still the best deal on pizza in west Denver. Cheeseburgers are pretty good, too. Not the best environment for kids, but not terrible either. Usually enough smoke to choke on, but that should be history by now. Really crowded on weekend evenings. Nice, safe neighborhood. Worth the drive - ENJOY!
I don't get it.... People either seem to love or hate this place. I don't know if they have bad days, or if certain people just have different expectations for pizza, but so far, Edgewater has the best pizza I've had in a while. As a San Francisco native, I have had access to a lot of good pies, and wasn't too impressed with Denver's selection until I found Edgewater! Great divey atmosphere with cheap booze and the killer Howdy pizza - big sausage and great crust that holds up. I love the heated patio, and it beats the heck out of paying $25 for Basil Docs! My only complaint is they close the bar too early on weekdays!
Good Pizza... BAD Service. The pizza is good depending on the mood of the chefs.... The service is about as good as a disgruntled employee at a fast food joint.
