Very disappointing service. I heard great things about these guys but they gave me the runaround, wanted to charge a lot for diagnostics alone (which they wouldn't apply later to a potential repair cost) and they took 4 days to read the computer error code for a cylinder misfire. I can't recommend these guys to anyone.

Very Overpriced. I stupidly signed paperwork that I would pay $110 even if they didn't do any work, even though I knew the problem was a loose heat shield on the exhaust, and wanted them to replace the rear brake pads.

They called me 3 hours later with a quote of $840 for the rear brakes (saying I needed new rotors), and $120 to tack-weld the heat shield, or "about $60" to remove it. *I* could have removed it!! Out of curiosity, I asked what an oil change would cost -- $59!!! It's a 4-cylinder Subaru.

I paid the $110 ransom to retrieve my car and took it to the Subaru dealer -- $420 for brakes & rotor resurface (they did not need to be replaced, per Subaru specifications), and $25 for an oil chance (which is a pretty standard price!) They tacked the heat shield back for free. In short, Downing St Garage is a total ripoff. I paid $445 + the $110 I wasted at DSG for what DSG wanted over $1000. Downing St Garage is there for the people who live in Country Club North, and can't be bothered driving a few miles to save several hundred $$.

An auto repair garage you can trust. I have depended on Downing Street Garage since before they moved to their current location. I trust their work and appreciate their attention to the customer. They make an effort to make everyone feel comfortable, male or female. They have always made good on any problems I have had. We all have a certain scepticism of auto repair shops and their pricing. It is a relief when you find one you can trust. Downing Street Garage IS one you can trust.

Good, quality work at Downing Street Garage. I just had my jeep worked on at Downing Street Garage and have nothing but positive feedback about my experience. I was in a jam because I was leaving for a 7-hour drive and had to get two axels replaced before the trip. Downing Street Garage not only fit me into their schedule at the last minute, but they were very thorough and gave me a detailed account of what needed to be fixed, and an honest and fair estimate. I would highly recommend downing street garage for car repair.
