watch where you park.... ok...so i grew up here, and have literally been parking in the same spot for YEARS. got my little bro's car towed from the 'money spot'. EXCALIBUR TOWING is the most unprofessional SKETCHY towing company on the face of this planet. towed the car, we called the number provided...and the man that answered was rude and hung up on me several times before he vaguely disclosed the location of the "impound lot". we spent the following morning chasing down towing companies, going from location to location trying to find this place.

even other towing companies said that this guy was the ONE GUY that you DON'T want to deal with. we were told by an owner of another company to make sure to take a camera and go through our car as soon as we get there to make sure everything was there. if it wasn't...CALL THE COPS immediately....

if another towing company is willing to help you out...call the other towing company to assist you............and then get HUNG UP ON...trying to help us. what is wrong here? how is this man in business? where is the quality assurance? how is the city/county and public utilities services allowing him to do 'business'?

after we finally had a rational conversation, we were able to "make an appointment" to go get our car. so we arrived 10 minutes before appointment and waited for about 45 minutes for someone to show up to let us in. there was another couple waiting there for their car...apparently it was not a good night for designated drivers in that area. they dealt with the same issues that we encountered. HORRIBLE customer service...

we were (both) charged $280 for the tow and storage fees. every other towing company charges $120 b/c they actually ARE associated with the city/county of denver. apparently this is a private company...that is not associated with the city and county...SO THEY CAN CHARGE WHAT EVER THEY WANT!! WTF????

So here is my suggestion folks...go buy a tow truck. rent a shitty lot. get a bunch of pit bulls that live at the lot and jump on cars. make sure the lot is in the middle of NOWHERE...so if anyone witnesses a drug deal or a murder...you can bury their bodies out there with all the cars you just stole. and how dare you provide any sort of customer service for the individuals that you are RAPING FOR THEIR MONEY. you'll make a killing. literally.

EXCALIBUR TOWING SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS> THIS MOTHER F*CKER IS A PIECE OF S&IT...should actually pity the FOOL...he was probably abused as a child and he probably lives in one of the white trash trailers parked there.

Steve Earle was awsome, terrifying parking, got towed. Wow! Same thing happen to us. I can't beleive it...Can anyone (please) check out the towing practices by the city of Denver? We got towed after a concert at the Ogden, and I wasn't sure we would live to tell about it. It happened to us last Friday night. We found ourselves with another distressed couple also stuck without a car, at a nearly empty parking lot. As instructed, we took a 1/2 hour cab ride to pick up our cars at the towing lot, and handed over $280 dollars--CASH ONLY ($280 per car!), for the inconvenience. We called the police, afraid our cars were stolen and we were about to be robbed; police were unconcerned, said some tow companies charged even more.



The company was Excalibur Towing. The tow yard is 25 miles outside Denver at the 52&I-70 neighborhood, in a dark, poorly lit maze of miles of fences and dirt alleys. It was scary taking cash there, and walking around trying to find the right lot (after taking a cab ride and stopping at the ATM for cash) in effort to pickup our cars before the midnight deadline. What the hell? It is too scary. I can't imagine a family with children, or in the winter and icy snowy roads and being in this predicament. I wonder, where does all this money go? Is it taxed by the city? I mean towing 3 cars in an hour is almost a grand. In cash. And being dropped off in a dark alley, with people standing around just waiting with all that cash? What's with that? Some one will get robbed or killed and no one would ever know...?

So here's your tip, don't park anywhere without checking all signs within a block or two in Denver city limits. You'll get towed; try it at 11 pm for a real hair raiser! Yikes!!!

When buying tickets at Box Office DO NOT park at Wendy's!!!. Exact same thing happened to me tonight (read below)... $288 towing fee for 5 minutes of parking at Wendy's while buying tickets for $65 at the Ogden Box office as to avoid the $20 stick-up fee from Ticketmaster ... you do the math!

"We parked at this Wendy's on Colfax for just a couple of minutes, walking down only a block on the same street to quickly buy a ticket from the Ogden.

Literally 3 minutes later, we returned to find our car GONE. I approached several people at the entrance, who apparently were scoping things out and alerting their tow trucks of anyone who would park and then set foot off the property for even a moment. One man said very clearly that he watched us walk away, and didn't feel there should have been any obligation on his part to alert us. But how was he to know that we weren't intending to go to Wendy's directly after leaving for something? Seriously! His response, of course, was that he couldn't have read our minds... So why not ask us, and then tow us after a reasonable amount of time if we didn't return? What a jerk!

He did tell me that if I would call the number on the sign, they (Excalibur Towing) would call me back within 15-20 minutes. They never called me back at any time during the night. I finally called them myself about an hour later and found out their location.

Thankfully, I was able to get some quick money and a ride because of someone driving from the Springs. Two hours later, I finally made it over to the “location” of Excalibur's yard at 38th and Brighton Road. They were so secretive about the location of this place that - literally - the man on the phone told us to park in an empty Appliance Store lot at midnight and wait for a tow truck to arrive and show us the way. Once all was said and done, it cost me $288, CASH ONLY. Very shady. And I originally just wanted to save myself 20 bucks in Ticketmaster convenience fees by buying straight from the Ogden!

What's more, after communicating with Wendy's themselves, it wouldn't have even mattered if I actually bought something there and then left for a few minutes. Excalibur would have still towed me! That's leaving the property, of course.

Bear in mind, this parking lot isn't really a Wendy's parking lot. They fool you... it's an Excalibur-owned lot that's made to be a trap for predatory towing purposes. Disgusting! They apparently park their tow trucks in a nearby alley and in "NO PARKING" spaces on the public street.

And the food? Well, it's just Wendy's, haha. It probably smells and tastes just like any other."  View Less … View More

Atrocious Customer Service. Up until my last visit at this venue I had enjoyed the intimate atmosphere of the shows. That was before I met "bessy", the nasty unfriendly security guard at the front door. It was a 16 and older show, and my wife had left her ID in her wallet, which for security reasons she left at home (my wife doesn't drink). Bessy told us we couldn't enter because of the ID issue, even after explaining that we would miss the show if we drove back, then proceeded to get nasty and tell us "Why do you think I'm standing here in the cold, for my health???". At that point, having been treated so rudely, I responded in kind, and was fairly rude to the security guard and was then refused entry to the show. The manager wasn't interested in our story, as she was happy to keep our ticket money and not allow entry based on Bessy's side of the story. Refunding our ticket would have been the customer-centric thing to do, especially after having to deal with Bessy, but apparently The Ogden isn't interested in customer service.  View Less … View More
