YoishoBest katsudon in town or anywhere else, for that matter!. I lived in Japan for two and a half years and I take my friends to Yoisho for the best katsudon anywhere.
What a wonderful little restaurant with such friendly staff/owners Highly Recommended!!!. This place is great!!!! The food is inexpensive and tasty and filling. My favorites are the Ginger Pork and the fried dumplings. It is a small place only 3 booths and about 6 or seven stools at a 50's style counter. I cannot say enough about how fun and enjoyable it is to eat here though. It is ran by a Korean couple that are the friendliest most courteous staff ever. If you go you will not be dissapointed.
simple japanese fare. This place is close to my house so I come here or order from here a lot. that probably makes me biased a little, but the food is always consistent. when I order Bulgogi (which is really Korean), I know that it'll be tender beef in a sweet dark sauce with bits of onion and carrot served with copious amounts of white rice. Yes, there are better japanese places in town, but this place is quick, its very cheap (nothing over $10), filling, and tasty. The owners/staff don't speak english well, but they are nice and smile often. Its nothing fancy, but then you aren't paying for it either.
Great Value. The folks at Yoisho are always very nice-- the food is fast and good. This is a tiny, cozy place. If you are the type of person who has to eat in the cleanest of all establishments, this place may not be for you. It's not dirty by any means, but they don't have the manpower to scrub and shine every corner.
Great Deal. The place is rather small but it serves some good food. Nothing over $9 here. Meals come with a simple soup and salad. Nothing fancy here, just simple japanese comfort food. Don't expect to find sushi or any of the same trappings to be had there!! I love the gyoza appetizers. They are plump, moist and chewey. The yakinuku is marinated beef short ribs and its my favorite. Its sweet and juicy. The Bulgogi is another favorite witha plethora of beef strips in sauce. Both are served wih rice. The owner/operators are sweet and kind, the old man doesn't speak english that well but he has a great smile. Good for takeout or quick lunch/simple dinner when you don't feel like cooking.
