Denver >Action Computers INC
After calling several data recovery companies who wanted anywhere from $1,200 to $2,000 to "attempt" retrieving data from our failed external drive, I took our bad drive to Action Computers. They recovered most of our files (nearly 200 GB), including several years of irreplaceable family photos, for less than $300, which included the cost of a new 500 GB passport drive. Not only that, but they finished the job the day after I dropped off the bad drive. Fast, affordable, and good work! I highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the metro Denver area and find yourself in the same unfortunate situation we were in. Thanks, Action Computers!
I always try to use local small businesses for anything I can... support the locals, right? Well, never again.... this is the second time a local small business has burned me, and badly. Everything worked on my computer with the exception of IE8, kept having troubles with it. After a week I was told my OS was corrupt and needed to be reloaded.. they backed everything up and reloaded the OS. What I got back was a mess....that was 2 months ago and I still can't figure out where/how all my docs/pics, everything went.... the folders are there but empty. All my original HP help/support gone...a whole lot of stuff they loaded that means nothing to me... lots of shell scripts, lots of docs that aren't mine. Went back to them, talked to the 'mgr' who turned out to be all talk.. never returned my calls after promising everything would be taken care of. An incredibly rude tech did a couple things to help, while I was standing there, but very minimal and he was so arrogant and nasty that I didn't dare ask another question. I left still not knowing how to find what was there originally. I will never go back and I would caution anyone from ever having any repair work done there.
Great small business - Local, not big guys. I was on my way to another store today to buy a new computer. On my way there I found this store. They quoted out a great computer for me at (what I felt) was a great price. I like to support local business for two reasons. It helps our local economy and I get a more personal feeling (compared to the big box stores). I got great service and these guys will warranty this thing for a year. I have never been so comfortable with my purchase.
Incredible Service, Attention to details, Very Professional. I have been a customer of Action Computers for over 10 years. I have used them on a professional and personal level. Over the years they have constantly exceeded my expectations from a service stand point. They pay attention to details. they inform you what is going on and they deliver. Their customer service is always top notch. Recently the mother board on my laptop was failing, they explained everything in detail and Mike Harris had me up and running within 24 hours. Their prices are reasonable and as always they go over and above to make sure you are satisified. I highly recommend this company and I have to many individuals and companies.Keep up the good work and thanks for the great service and quality products!!!
They sell 3-packs of PCs for $105!!!!.
Great prices!!!! I read a couple of reviews that stated some of the prices were high. That was not my experience. I just bought three computers for $105 (that’s total FOR 3) each including Windows XP (I just wanted something for my kids to play with and get used to technology. Why have them share a PC when they can each have their own?
The guy that helped me, Jeff Myers, was very helpful and friendly to work with. Highly recommend this place
– don’t just read the reviews, go check it out and see for yourself.
They saved my bacon on Friday afternoon. I own a small business and our server crashed last Friday afternoon. I took the server to Action Computers on Colorado Blvd at 4pm Friday and asked them for help as our entire database was at risk. I spoke to Daniel who got right to work on our server. They figured out that one of the hard drives had crashed but were able to salvage all our data. I had the server back Saturday at noon with a new hard drive and all our data. I cannot be more pleased at this company’s urgency to help mine and will be forever grateful for their fast and helpful service.
great service! Saved hundreds $$$. I went in to shop their computers, could have spent over $200, for used. $400 - 600 for new. A woman named Cornelia suggested we have their guys do an increase on the ram of our Dell with XP. Cost us $55. My wife and I are delighted with the speed and performance of our old computer. Cornie did a great job saving us money. We will shop there when we need our next computer. By the way it is performing, I think it will be another 4 or 5 years.
If its results you're looking for, don't come here!.
I took my computer in and they didn't actually get the diagnosis done when they said they would. When they did get it done, they said they didn't find anything and claimed it was running fine. They blamed it on our external drive for the booting-up problem even though our computer was also crashing constantly.
Now we're home and it's still crashing. I feel they stole $50 and time from us.
I looked on the BBB again and read the complaints about this company and saw the same complaints we had.
We would never recommend this place to anyone. You would have better luck figuring out the problem on your own then you would taking it to this place.
Did not recieve evidence for services charged. I was a recent ACI customer experiencing hardware issues above my ability to fix on my own. I took my computer to ACI and after an initial hardware diagnostics, my hunch was confirmed... a faulty power supply was in the process of also destroying (had destroyed) my motherboard. However, I believe ACI did not support the evidence of suppossed viruses they found AFTER fixing the hardware issues despite the agreement to present a list of found and removed software threats. They charged me for the scan and removal but could never duplicate the symptoms while I was present in the lab nor could they produce a list of the malicous software found and removed. Without this evidence, I can only assume this is a scam and would caution all customers from being convinced their issues are related to viruses. They charge a heavy fee for the scan and removal and if they are not forced to produce the evidence then this is a pretty good racket for them. You can read more about my experience on my web site at w-w-w-shawnkelshaw dot com
Don't believe the good reviews from the employees.
Trust a former employee who does web design, administers a school district, and has close to 10 years in the computer industry...I have 0 to gain from this review.
I encourage you to go into ACI and see what they have to offer. Make sure you bring in a notebook to write on. Rather than going in there and being sold something you may not need go into the experience as an informed consumer. Look and listen to what they have to say. Write down the model of what you interested in. Then politely say you would like to do some homework first. Go home and look at google. Type in your model number and go to the shopping site (this is especially true if its a refurbished/ used computer) and see what they have it for. In many cases, the same machine can be bought for 100-300 dollars cheaper than at Action Computers. Many of these other retailers have hundreds of positive reviews. Next, look at the amount of money you were going to spend at ACI and then go to Best Buy, Walmart, Sears, etc...really any place that sells new computers and see what you can get for new there first. Many places offer service plans when you buy a machine and if it ever happens that you need to have a machine worked on there are places like the geek squad and Action Computers that fix machines. Basically there is no reason to spend more money for something you can get somewhere else cheaper. After all if it breaks down you'll still end up probably taking it to a place like them to get it fixed. There is no sense in paying more for the initial product. Good luck and happy informed shopping!
