Viaggio's is CLOSED! They closed down in 2010! This listing should be removed.

Worst dining experience EVER! Spoiled our New Years Eve :0(. 5 years ago we often dined at Viaggio's and enjoyed their menu. We decided, for old times we would go there for New Years - What a disappointment!!!!

First the wait staff were terrible - the male waiter kept calling out, loudly, to the female wait staff "KAT?" and she would ignore him - then she would repeat to each table (I can't tell you how many times we heard this in the long hour and a half we were there) I am so sorry for the wait. The service was unprofessional and lacked the sophistication we were accustom to while dining at Viaggios in the past.

Our Gibson Beefeater Martinis did not have Beefeater Gin (a very common Gin - they were out) and the onions were old and rank - they were yellow and they still served them to us. After we told them about the spoiled onions - they not only charged us for the 2 that were bad they added another one on our bill ( I know we did not order another bad martini!) The lobster bisque soup was salty, the entry we order showed asparagus on the menu and we were served whimpy green beans - yuck! Our $100 dinner totally sucked. It is sad our old time favorite should be closed down.

Worst Food Ever. We had never eaten at this restaurant and based on the reviews we gave it a whirl. We placed a take out order for pizza and two caser salads.

The pizza that was supposed to feed 4 adults (we asked) were the size of personal pizzas and they were too greasy to eat even if there had been enough to go around.

The Caesar salad that was to have been two was "combined" but was really one salad so we were shorted a salad, which was a good thing. The greens for the salad were limp and old thus the reason for two pints of dressing on the salad that just made a bad situation worse.

Apparently the dinner came with complementary bread, they should have kept it, as it was at least 3 days old and crumbled when you touched it.

All of this for the bargain price of $25.00. I would not be surprised if this place was shut down within the month. Please save your money and your stomach and eat elsewhere.

Never Been Disappointed - Best Non-Chain Italian in Aurora. My husband and I have gone here about 6 times on our "date" night -- it's close to home, we know we won't have to wait, and the food is terrific. The strip mall it's in at the intersection of Iliff and Peoria is nothing special, but inside the restaurant, it's dark, cozy, and we've had the same courteous and handsome waiter almost every time. The bread is great, salads are fresh, and all the seafood specials are spot on. Love the homemade desserts - their tiramisu is terrific. No complaints and we'll return again and again.

Affordable romantic Italian trattoria in Aurora.. In Short
Italian opera music helps set the tone at this comfortable trattoria. Couples and diners come here for an intimate, yet affordable dining experience. Antipasti options include grilled polenta and calamari. For pastas, there's angel hair pasta with chicken, seasoned with roasted garlic and topped with fresh basil and tomatoes. Noteworthy specials include salmon pizza, grilled vegetable salad and fettuccine in a chicken and spinach gorgonzola sauce.

No Frills - But Good. It's quaint. Service was excellent. Don't mind ala Carte, but in most Italian restaurants bread is gratis (we got one small portion - if you want more you order it as an appetizer). It's also fairly standard for salad (or soup/vegetable) to be included with entrées. It's not unreasonable to receive bread/salad for entrées that fetch $12-$20. Neither in effect here.

Mussels in red wine sauce (good but sparse - 6 mussels). The red wine sauce (think Manhattan clam chowder) was a nice change from the white sauce you get typically. Polenta w/shrimp was good. Braised leg of Lamb was best of what was served with the meat fairly falling off the bone. Seafood linguini (red sauce) w/salmon was ok though there were a couple off-tasting clams (again good, but seafood was sparse).

Slightly above average, worth a return visit.
