KFC Wishes They Were This Good!

When I walked into this place with my relatives (locals) I immediately thought of Laura Ingalls Wilder in Little House on the Prairie. How wrong was I to judge a book by its cover! When my sister went to grab a number for us, we hung around the store and the Americana Barn. The kids got a real kick out of taking pictures with the brass Thomas Jefferson in front. Our table seated 8. At promptly 6 o' clock, my nephew, who is an avid diner at WFF, ran off to ride the "Pig slide" as he called it. Apparently, it is only open the first 15 minut4es of the hour, and my nephew worships it. As soon as we sat down at our long country style table, we were greeted by a nice lady wearing an checkered apron. She handed us menus and took our drink orders. My niece and nephew, who always come to WFF brought their report cards with straight As on them. The server immediately smiled and congratulated them. She stamped them with a smiley face and told my sister that they would get free kids meals! Those kids meals included potatoes, fried chicken, a drink, a sundae, and unlimited sides. (Unlimited sides come with the meal!) After we had placed our order, our waitress whipped out a bowl of fresh beets, homemade coleslaw, bean salad and decadent corn fritters. Everything was excellent. The coleslaw was the best I had ever had! Crunchy, crisp, and sour! The beets, were sweet and firm. The bean salad was different but still delicious. The corn fritters were so good, I filled up on them right as the chicken came! The chicken came on a steaming platter topped with an American flag as an added effect. The chicken is specially cooked in a steam cooker, and then friend to a crunchy crisp so it isn't oily at all! The potatoes were buttery and fluffy. My sister says that this place is like a Casa Bonita, but with actually food. Overall, the experience was great, and the kids loved it- very family friendly!

• Pros: Best fried chicken and coleslaw I've ever had! Great service
• Cons: reservations for people with large groups only. (20+)

Good food, good service, weird leftovers?

I would say the food is very good and it's worth the trip. They also have a nice farm grounds with petting zoo. The service was friendly as well.

That said, I'm not sure what's up with the "people bags" they don't have any cardboard or styrofoam boxes, they just tell you to put everything in a plastic bag. I brought it home to my husband and he opened the bag and was disturbed a little by the layout. So anyhow, I'm not big on family style, i couldn't even eat the first serving....i would pay $1 extra for a nice cardboard box. thanks

• Pros: you don't leave hungry, good food, nice setting, good service
• Cons: weird bags

Farm-Fresh Food & Entertainment for the Whole Family!! Unique Family Atmosphere -- a Must for Out of Town Guests!!

White Fence Farm is one of the BEST family restaurants in the Denver area. Family-owned & operated, their food is served family-style, so no one will leave hungry. They feature unique starters -- corn fritters, bean salad, cole slaw, creamy cottage cheese, even beets -- which are fresh & you can tell that all their items are homemade with their special family recipes. They are famous for their fried chicken, but the shrimp and fish are also tasty. There is a petting zoo with goats, donkeys, sheep and other farm critters; there is a play area; there is a barn with an indoor slide and live bands playing at night; there are country stores & a country bakery featuring fudge & pies; carriage rides are also available on certain nights. Plan on spending time enjoying all the Wilson Family has to offer!! They do fill up on weekends during the dinner rush, but there is so much to see, the wait time flies by. Servers are always friendly & attentive. The restaurant has different rooms to dine in with different themes, and it is always clean and comfortable. White Fence Farm is a MUST when you have company visiting from out of town!! And, their kid-friendly atmosphere will have families going back for a fun night out. This place cannot be beat for both the food quality and the atmosphere!

• Pros: The food is great & the things to do are even better!
• Cons: A bit pricey, but because food is served family-style, they will bring seconds of side dishes!
