Editorial Review for Cafe Jordano – by Ephraim Mallery
In Short
The interior looks like an upgraded diner with a hint of Italy: bright yellow walls, plenty of table decorations and old family photos on the menus. Since the eatery doesn't take reservations, nightly crowds wait in available bar seats and spill out onto the sidewalk. Creative pasta sauces, chicken dishes and buffalo preparations are signature dishes. Entrees include fettuccini with Gorgonzola, buffalo scaloppini with a splash of cognac or chicken with artichoke hearts.

Insider Tips
When to GoIf you don't want to spend an hour waiting in the bar, arrive before the doors open or around 8:30 or 9pm when the crowds start to dwindle.
Save MoneyDinner prices may be good, but lunch is even better. Pasta dishes are about $5, and chicken is $6.50.

As an excellent home chef with Italian heritage, I can vouch for the delicious food at Cafe Jordano with lots of dining experiences. I've been eating there over 15 years. Yes, you have to wait if you don't arrive right at 5, or later in the evening. Yes, the staff can be a little rushed, but it is to be expected at a bustling family owned business. So, if you want to go somewhere quiet and candlelit, this isn't the place. On the other hand, if you want delicious well-executed, Italian dishes that always taste excellent, and a fun and packed social atmosphere come here and Manga! I literally crave this place. Recommended with authority!
Pros: The excellent food; easy parking; a menu that keeps your favorite classics
Cons: Busy; 30-60 minute wait if you don't time it right

This is my third time to the restaurant and it keeps getting worse. Each time the wait has taken longer and longer. Service - We arrived 10 minutes early with reservations and were still not seated until 20 minutes after the reservation (total wait 30 minutes WITH RESERVATIONS). Then it took another 20 minutes before the waiter even took our order. Service was lousy and the waiter had his head in the clouds. We had to ask several times for the "complementary" bread, drink refills, etc. Food - I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. It was watery and the cream sauce lacked much flavor. The portion was slightly small. My father ordered their special, Shrimp Scampi. Not only did it not have any pasta on the dish, the portion was so tiny. He had to fill up on bread afterwards. Wine/Drinks - Their selection of wine was small and most of the wine listed had "replacement" wines instead. And if you order a soft drink, it is $1.50 and they bring you a can of soda (the same 12 oz can you can buy for $0.50). Prices – Our meal included salad and bread in the price. My Fettuccine was $9.25. Overall – I will never return to Café Jordano. Three strikes and you’re out. As much as I hate the chain restaurants, I would recommend Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill over this place. They are too tiny and too snooty. While acting like they are a four-star restaurant, they are far from it. They are “Fine Dining” without the “Fine”. If you are looking for a great family-owned Italian restaurant, try Mama Roma's instead.
Pros: Parking was close
Cons: The WAIT, the waitstaff, the food
