I love the vast options here. I really love the fact that they have different options for the customers to choose from. They also have the most polite and helpful crew.

You have terrible customer service and a bad business model. Competitive businesses empower employees to solve customer concerns and provide clear and transparent information to consumers. You do neither, and i advise other consumers to avoid hiring you at all costs until you demonstrate respect for the people who keep you in business.

The only ones smiling are the owners while they rake in $.
We have used Brothers for 4 jobs costing > $4000 over recent years. Their staff are always courteous and seem knowledgeable, but we have now had two bad experiences in a row with ridiculous pricing. Last year it was > $500 to check our AC and vacuum a single piece. No parts and under an hour and a half of labor. They recommended replacing the entire AC and furnace for over $10k for a basic (not high efficiency) AC and furnace for our modest 1800 SF townhome.
Yesterday, had a fuse blow in the breaker box. Within an hour TOTAL (including paperwork, diagnosis, and repair) the technician identified that a single electrical outlet was the culprit and charged us $320 to replace it. The kicker is that this included $60 for materials and we supplied the single < $2 electrical outlet that was needed. The cost was not discussed until after the repair was made and the technician had to find something in the list that seemed reasonable (really, there is no fee schedule for replacing an outlet when you offer electrician services?). The best he could come up with was a vague "standard repair" charge. When my wife said the price was excessive, why did replacing a single electrical outlet not fall under "minor repair", he said it took a whole hour (according to my wife 40ish minutes at that point) so this did not fall under the "minor repair" description. He stated that he was doing us a favor and charging less than normal to help us out. When I got home and reviewed the statement, I immediately called and left a message for the service manager, but as of noon the next day they have not bothered to return my call, even to explain their ridiculous $60 material fee when we provided the one $2 part. My wife should never have signed and agreed to pay this without speaking with a service manager, but we are stuck now. However, we will not be using this company again, and I highly recommend you shop around for a better alternative.

Poor business practices, tries to sell me unnecessary stuff.
I recently called Brother Plumbing and Heating to evaluate a furnace problem. They charged me a $79 diagnostic/ 'show up' fee. This in itself is not unreasonable, however just about any company will apply this fee to your bill if you decide to go ahead with the repairs. Not Brother. In fact since I told their guy I wasn't sure(because their estimate seemed quite high) and would let him know in a few days, he told me that if i did call them back for the repairs there would be ANOTHER $79 'show up' fee if I did decide to go ahead with the work(this on top of their high estimate).
Not only did they recommend replacing of an unnecessary part, the technician also told me I might be better off getting a brand new furnace because my
12 year old furnace might be near the end of it's life(!). Not only is this dishonest, it is downright sleazy. I will not patronize businesses that recommend unneeded repairs and use questionable practices(the excessive 'show up' fees) to pad their bottom lines. Fortunately I found another local company that did the repairs for a fair price and didn't charge me a diagnostic fee. If you need work like this always get a 2nd or 3rd estimate.

Courteous Price Gouging. I called Brothers Plumbing and Heating to look at my A/C. A Courteous Technition did come to my house and diagnose the problem. Then he sat me down and told me the cost to fix it. I was floored, he said it was going to cost me over $850.00 to fix my system, and another $350 to seal my system from future leaks. That just did not seem right to me so I said no thanks and paid my service fee and said goodbye. I looked around and found a company and told them what my problem was, they came out and fixed my A/C system, and said I did not need to seal my system, since it has been so long since my last service and it is normal for the Freon to leak out over time. ( If it leaked out over just a year or 2 then yes they would recomend a sealent). The total for them to fix my A/C $159.00. I couldn't beleave it. I understand big companys have overhead, but not $700 worth! To me this was just pure price gouging.
