Had a Great Meal. We had a GREAT meal at the Cracker Barrel in Northglen, CO just one week ago. The service was fast and courteous. Our meals were delicious. I had the Country Fried Steak, my husband and son had fish dishes, which they said was excellent.

If you don't like country cooking - don't go to Cracker Barrel. The green beans will be cooked, not steamed, and the mashed potatoes are the best comfort food you will find anywhere.

Just BAD!. We went there the other night based on the reviews here, and we were terribly dissapointed! I ordered the chicken and dumplings and my husband ordered the BBQ pork. Not only was our food cold, but my dumplings were horrible; they were like over cooked noodles and the gravy was very bland! My husbands food was served with cornbread and rolls that were extremely dry. We ordered french fries for our little one and he would not even eat them, so we tasted them and they had no flavor what so ever!

A little ole' country general store serving down-home foods and goods since 1969.. In Short
Originating in Lebanon Texas, this country store and restaurant has branched out all over the U.S. The décor includes old advertising signs, farm equipment, early kitchen appliances and photos which complement the country-style seating. Their menu includes home-style comfort foods like meatloaf and house-made mashed potatoes daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure to stop into the gift shop for souvenirs and a variety of knick-knacks.

Disappointing in Denver (but GREAT everywhere else!). Traditionally, Cracker Barrels are among the most reliable of restaurant 'chains' for good food, reasonable prices, friendly service, and homey atmosphere. Unfortunately, we've had two less-than-ideal experiences at Cracker Barrel, and they were BOTH at the Denver, CO location. The first unpleasant experience occurred when we were eating at a table fairly near the kitchen door. There was some kind of disagreement going on between kitchen staff, and the VERY loud yelling back and forth throughout or meal created an uncomfortable atmosphere- to say the least. Also, some of our food came out cold. Both of these negatives were firsts for Cracker Barrels, in our experiences of eating our way across America at Cracker Barrels on several occasions. When we mentioned both problems to the manager, he comped our two dinners AND gave us a free pie, so we left smiling in spite of the bad manners of the kitchen staff.

On the second occasion, the food wasn't hot and it wasn't as fresh and tasty as usual. Again, when we mentioned it to the manager on duty, our dinner was again comped. Not that we make it a point to eat and then try to arrange for the meal to be free, but that seems to be Cracker Barrels policy on how to best make lemonade out of a lemon.

It seems to me that there must be a management problem at this particular Cracker Barrel- the only CB in Denver. We've been fans of CB since they started in Tennessee, and these are the ONLY bad experiences we've ever had. We personally know the two artists, Robert Godby and Pete Garrett, who designed the CB logo-- the cracker barrel and rocking chair, so we feel almost like part of the CB family. As they say, even the best of families have a couple of cousins they'd rather not spend time with. Maybe the CB in Denver is just one of those cousins.

If you're on the road.... You can always trust a Cracker Barrel. This is the place with big portions, a couple of sides included and quick service. This is about turnover, spend a little there, spend some more in the gift shop and then back on the road. Dependable food at a dependable price.

Great Deal. What a place. We love it. Good home made food, good size servings, and all very reasonably priced. I can usually feed my family of four (which includes 2 teens) for under $50. That includes dessert. Very casual dining and atmosphere.

One of the best. I don't live in Colorado amumore but anytime I visit I always eat at the Cracker Barrel. I started eating at Cracker Barrels 35 years ago. I think it is one of the best restaruants going. No matter what state you're in the food is always the same "good". I live in Wyoming and can't wait for Cracker Barrel to find our state and open a restaraunt

Relax and Enjoy. This old fashioned eatery will entice any hungry patron through their doors. The front porch adorned with old fashioned rocking chairs (caution, you may fall asleep in one because of the confort) and classic games such as oversized checkers and chess adorn wooden barrel tables.

This restaurant is geared towards down home family eating. With a country store in the waiting area and creeky wooden floors benith you it's only a matter of time before you feel like you are back in the old west.

The food is something elce. All of it seems to come from grandma's kitchen. The feel good warmth that sourounds the every aroma floating amonst you.

Top it off with some hot apple cobbler ala mode and you will have a meal you won't soon forget!

Do you like Country Buffet?. If you enjoy big globs of fatty, bland food, you've come to the right place! If this is down-home country cookin', then Chef Boyardee must live in the Heartland of America - it all tastes the same and is the consistancy of mush. Save your bucks and go to your folks' for Sunday dinner!
