Gussies in the 80s
by Richard Z at Citysearch
I worked at Gussies when the original owner a Russian woman owned it. The Chef was the best I miss him. I dont know but the owner might be deceased, her husband passes in a train accident. The managers, and all staff were very professional. All of the professional athletes, and public officials and anyone who was someone would eat there (Govenor and John Elway as exaple). The food was five star culinary at its best and the employees were very professional and friendly. I'm sorry to hear its over.
- Pros: Fabulous Cuisine and Customer Service
- Cons: No longer Gussies
My porterhouse was a t-bone

This is terrible. The waiter didn't understand me even a little. I ordered chilly.. he brought a salad... I ordered a Porterhouse medium rare... He brought a T- bone well done. I ordered a Long Island iced tea.... he brought me a coke with a shot in it. Stay away from this place. not good at all. Terrible in fact. My girlfriend ordered a chicken brest she got chicken that resembled fajitas. don't go there.. Your money is better spent at Wendy's.
- Pros: They speek mexican spanish.
- Cons: Where do I start.
Not the Gussies you remember!
by kimberlyannmccleskey at Citysearch
This is a counterfeit! Gussies closed many years ago, but in it's day it was an all time favorite of ours. The food was of the highest quality and the wait staff was very professional back then. The atmosphere was very romantic and perfect for special occasions. We have missed it and longed to find a place like it. So when it opened back up recently with the old name and logo we went right over. We were so disappointed because it is the same Mexican food restaurant it’s been for a few years! They are serving a buffet of Mexican food, the menu has one page of steaks and the rest is Mexican food and hamburgers. They bring you chip and salsa when you sit down!! The place is dirty and smells! It needs to be completely renovated! I am pleading for the chef of Gussies (the real Gussies) to come back and open up the Gussies we all knew and loved.
- Pros: None
- Cons: It's Mexican food, not Gussies that the community remembers
