Worst managed restaurant ever.
Worst managed restaurant ever.
Went to the drive-thru at 6:45. Wish I'd noticed the two cars of people waiting for chicken - that would've been my first clue. When I was told it'd be 9 minutes to get my chicken (original recipe - they were out of the most popular chicken at 6:45??), I said I'd go inside to wait. I went in and three people were standing behind the counter with their backs to me, talking. They finally turned to me after about 3 minutes. Then I was encouraged to take a seat, and they went back to chatting, one young woman continually playing with her hair (eww). A full 20 minutes later, I walked up to the counter, because I saw the cook pulling the chicken out of the fryer. No, wait - actually I went to the counter because I got curious when I saw the Domino's delivery guy waiting at the front of the counter for someone to pay attention to him and pay him (talk about a surreal moment in fast food). At the counter once again, I watched as the cook slowly put each individual piece of original recipe on a tray. The three other workers didn't rush over to get their chicken to fill the waiting orders. We all stood and watched and waited until he'd put the tray in the proper place up front so that the workers could then fill the waiting buckets. The person taking care of my order had to check the order slip (I wondered how it could have possibly been confusing, considering I was the only one waiting in the entire restaurant). I got a brief 'thank you for waiting' and she quickly turned her back to me, evidently noticing my displeasure.
NOW I remember why I haven't been here for years. It'll take me more years before I try KFC again, that's for sure.
KFC on S Golden Rd. This place is the worst of the worst. I told my wife I have a craving for KFC but I don't want to get it here. I don't eat fried chicken often maybe once in a few years. I thought I'd give this place a try again. The last time was about 2-3 years ago & it was dirty, lousy counter service & no product available. Same thing on this return visit. I knew I was in trouble as I stepped out of my car . I made eye contact with the girl at the counter from outside & when I walked in there was no one at the counter. The food under the heat lamps looked scarce. I stood there for about 1 minute before I yelled "is anyone here"? I then walked outside & there were 2 people in uniform hanging out side & they said "oh sorry, we'll be right there". So they come waltzing in & I place my order for my family-they were out of mac & cheese (mind you it's only 6pm (dinner time right?), One dingbat says we have some then opens up the warmer & pulls out a dried container of empty mac n cheese. "Oh wow I guess we are out". Don't they check there inventory? They were also out of chicken breasts which the kid slob hanging out by the counter said"should I make more" YOU THINK? The sides I wanted were not available & the chicken was not available & the only thing the manager said was "well you can wait for some if you want". I guess I had no choice except to leave but I had a hungry 3 year old with me so I waited. The same thing happened to the 5 people behind me. They were all pissed.By that time 3 more people come waltzing out of the kitchen office- Probably the same people that could have greeted me when I first walked in. KFC ought to be ashamed of the poor service & lack of product available. Poor poor poor. They ought to shut down.
Oh yeah, one more thing. The food wasn't even warm.
For more than 60 years, this all-American institution has been serving its signature chicken and home-style sides..
Established in 1939, this fast-food restaurant still makes its legendary fried chicken with the closely guarded blend of 11 herbs and spices originally created by founder Colonel Sanders. Modern additions to the menu include oven-roasted renditions of its chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, potato wedges and wraps. Classic sides include flaky, oversized biscuits, steaming-hot mashed potatoes and gravy, smoky-sweet baked beans and crisp, generously dressed coleslaw. Kids and adults love the "little bucket" parfaits of pudding desserts.
