Originally built to attract business from political figures, the house was made of stone from Golden's quarries.. In Short
The building has gone from upscale hotel to boarding house to dorms and finally a museum. Most of the space is dedicated to showing off the boarding house. Also of interest are the quilts from the 1880s, a roll-top desk belonging to former Postmaster Horace Tabor and the 1890s kitchen. The museum also houses a Victorian Gift Shop that sells collectibles, cookbooks, calendars, jams, candles and children's stuffed animals made from antique quilts that can no longer be repaired.
