Editorial Review for Isle of Capri Casino--Black Hawk – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
This $100 million tropical-themed casino in Blackhawk is part of a national chain that includes joints in Louisiana and Mississippi. One of Colorado's largest casinos, it has 1,100 slot machines in all denominations, 14 table games a 238-room hotel and 1,000 covered valet and self-park spaces. There's no bus service from Denver, but the casino is close to other gaming venues--so it may be worth the drive. The casino also regularly books fairly big-time entertainment.

It was my birthday recently and I wanted to go to the casinos for the night. Our biggest mistake was choosing the Isle of Capri. The hotel was decorated in day glow green and yellow and horribly outdated. The "upscale" restaurant, Farradday's, only had upscale prices. The food was mediocre in most cases and in some cases downright nasty (think institutional canned corn). I expect better food when the tab comes to more than a $100 for two people.
Cons: bad restaurant, horrible decor
