Editorial Review for Ski Tip Lodge – by Gayot.com
The Scene
A stagecoach stop in the 1880s, this inn offers a unique atmosphere that reflects its historic past. Uneven floors, rustic log walls, regional antiques and wood-burning fireplaces give it the air of a lodge in a small European mountain resort. This place seems to cater to avid skiers in the winter and families (with well-behaved children) in summer.
The Details
The eight, queen-bedded, nonsmoking guest rooms and two petite suites (sleeping up to four people) are small, simple and comfortable. There are thick quilts on the beds and good reading lights on the nightstands. Those used to certain standard amenities should prepare themselves for the lack of phones, air conditioning and, in some cases, private baths. Guests enjoy reading in front of the fireplaces in the common rooms, where they can play cards and board games or simply chat.
