Chow Down Pet Supplies is the best pet store in Evergreen hands down. The owners are wonderful people that make getting to know their customers and their pets a number one priority. They have great experience with animals as they have many and have been foster parents for hundreds of dogs. Chow Down has a great selection of products and any one of their friendly employees can answer difficult questions about pet issues. It is a great place to go give your pet a bath or just let them shop for goodies. The store is a completely safe environment for kids and pets alike. The employees are wonderful and will go the extra mile for each individual customer. They have stayed open 45 minutes past closing time so I could get food for my animals. They have also special ordered items for me that i could not find anywhere else (and for a great deal). I love Chow Down and I would not shop anywhere else for my animals.

Pros: Wonderful Customer Service

Cons: none

Chow Down continues to endorse Pit_Bulls after attack Saturday October 6, 2007 Within moments of entering the pet store Chow Down on 3719 Evergreen Parkway, 2 Pit_Bulls attacked and latched on to my 10 month old Border Collie, Sagan. A black and white Pit_Bull came up to Sagan and within a blink of an eye a Brown Pit_Bull lunged from around an obscured corner and locked on to Sagan’s throat. Then the Black one bit on to Sagan’s knee. The Black pit_bull was pulled off first leaving the Brown pit_bull locked on for what seemed like an eternity. We were punching and kicking the Pit_Bull then I grabbed a ruler and stabbed it down the pit_bull’s mouth to finally free my dog. All 3 dogs had been leashed. After I rushed Sagan to Evergreen Vet in Bergen Park, I later returned to Chow Down to pick up Sagan’s collar that came off during the attack. I asked the owners what they thought of the incident since I knew they encouraged Pit_Bull adoption and ownership in Colorado. The owner of Chow Down blamed it on “the people” in the room for creating the energy for the attack and not the Pit_Bull breed. Confused by her reasoning, we reviewed the details of the attack described above. The Chow Down owner concluded that the Brown Pit_Bull “misread” the interaction of the Black pit_bull with my dog. She said her Pit_Bull would never attack anyone, because her dog knows she would kill_it if it did. It’s not the breed, it’s the owners and their training ability, she insisted. She added that the owners of the Pit_Bulls were actually there shopping for “more aggressive” training collars and that they offered them some “training advice” after the incident. I will never go there again. I feel their ignorance is unsafe for dogs, children and adults alike. If you agree that their judgment is flawed by continuing to allow and encourage Pit_Bulls in their store and in our community, I ask you to join me in their boycott.

Pros: None.

Cons: My dog was attacked by 2 pit_bulls in their store. Don't go there or bring your dogs, kids or friends.
