Good Food - Good Service - Happy Customers.
After driving to the top of Mt. Evans and back, my husband and I were hungry and parked along the street in Idaho Springs. We were going to walk to another place, but we parked in front of "Buffalo" and decided to try it. I'm so happy we did!
From the moment we walked in, service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, and our food came quickly and the drinks stayed full.
We started by sharing a bowl of french onion soup, which my husband and I get everywhere, and we were not disappointed.
I had the Buffalo BBQ sandwich. It was an open-faced sandwich of buffalo brisket slathered in sauce. The sauce was tangy and not-too-sweet. and I can honestly say I relished every bite. The fries were also crisp and fresh.
My husband had the Philly Buffalo sandwich, which is basically a cheese steak with buffalo meat on a kaiser roll. He appreciated the lack of grease in the sandwich, but he would suggest it being served on a more sturdy roll that won't fall apart. Taste was not a problem, and he enjoyed his sandwich along with the fresh, crispy onion rings on the side.
The prices were reasonable and I was full when I left. If I ever end up back that way, I will certainly try to stop in again.
TL;DR
Good Buffalo entrees, good service, good prices
getting better all the time. The Buffalo seems to have come a long way over the past two years. The prices are not low, but the portions are perfect and the quality cannot be beat. The menu says that the meat is all natural, antibiotic free and hormone free. This stuff at the store is not cheap. You can taste it though and my wife (the healthy one)claims that she can feel it too after eating. She says it is the only way to go, so in the interest of being politically correct, we eat at the buffalo whenever in Idaho Springs.
what a difference. This place seems transformed. The beer is ice cold and the variety is great. They now have a value menu for those on a budget and the happy hour prices can't be beat. Go on a Tues. night and have two pizzas for the price of one and two beers for the price of one, they cvall it twofers or something like that. Neat atmosphere and a friendly staff
it is good.....now. It appears that a management change has been great for the Buffalo. Ate here a couple of years ago an dthe food was so so and the staff seemed stressed. Have been visiting for the past few months and the food has been great and the staff knows what customer service is all about. The new manager seems to be on the ball. Keep up the good work. The beer is ice cold, great work!!!!
Great burgers, good atmosphere, excellent beer selection. We came here on Saturday for lunch, and the service was very good. The place was packed and we had to wait for a table to open up. However, once we were seated, our drinks were served promptly and food came fast as well. The buffalo burgers are great, cooked just right. Potato chips are also excellent, not too salty like in a lot of other places. The place has a lot of flat screen tv's with sports on, and a good selection of beer. Prices are a bit on the high side , with a burger costing the same or more as in downtown Denver. However, this place is a great find in Idaho Springs. Will come back here for sure!
Terrible Service. Don't bother to even stop. It was the worst service we have had. The wait staff was rude and the food was bad.
Great Buffalo Burger. All Natural Beef Burger. Kids love it, especially the old-time horse ride. Great burgers and unique twists on using buffalo in recipes. Atmosphere is welcoming and flat screne TVs for the game. GUINNESS on tap!!!!!!
Never Returning. Service was lacking at best. With our three children in tow, we waited more than 10 minutes for our server and her trainee to take a drink order. (Keep in mind this is lunch service.) The dinner salad was drowned in the dressing making it completely unedible. The bread was stale and my children refused to eat chicken nuggets. My boys will eat McDonalds and Wendy's nuggets but not these. The potato skins were bland and also inedible. The bartendress was rude and made it clear that she did not appreciate anyone under the age of 21 in the restaurant. Overall, we were completely disappointed and will never return.
Editorial Review. This rustic, Western establishment has served traditional American fare since 1881; buffalo featured. Near eight ski areas.
