The Scene
The Mountain Lodge is a Best Western, so expect a straight-up hotel type of joint. That's not to say it's bad--it simply means it won't have the special charm of a smaller establishment. Located directly across the highway from the slopes of Winter Park, the hotel has excellent views--on one side at least. The second floor sports an indoor pool and hot tub with views of the mountain, as well as a sauna. There's also an outside hot tub.
The Details
Standard rooms are known either as Mountain View or Forest View and come with standard amenities. The Mountain Parlor is slightly more jazzed-up with floor-to-ceiling windows. The Mountain Suites sleep four with both queen- and king-sized beds. (They'll fit six with the addition of a roll-away.) They also feature a studio kitchen, fireplace and Jacuzzi tub.
