Editorial Review for Garden of the Gods – by Heidi Anderson

In Short
Beautifully framed against the backdrop of the snowy Rockies, the Garden of the Gods formations dwarf human visitors. Paved pathways and well-maintained dirt trails meander through the towering rocks. Guests can stop at the visitor center to watch a short video on how the sandstone formations formed. Free nature walks are offered daily at 10am and 2pm, and you can go rock climbing as long as you register at the visitor center.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

Remember to fill up those water bottles; the lack of shade and low humidity can dry you out in minutes. And don't let the snow get you down; the park is open year-round.

What a fun place to go for an easy hike with most trails that are paved. The beautiful scenery will mesmerize you while explore.

Pros: Great day getaway

Cons: Some trails and formations are very crowded on the weekend

I live only a few miles from Garden of the gods and have been there many times. I never get tired of it. It is a very peaceful place to go and forget the pressures of the day. It is my favorite place to visit in Colorado Springs. It is especially beautiful at sunrise.

Pros: inexpensive, good parking

Cons: crowded
