Your car audio project is in good hands.
I wanted to replace the factory radio in my 2002 BMW 325xi with a state of the art double din Nav system. I knew going in that this would be a difficult job. Vent ducts behind the dash had to be
re-routed, the vent controls had to be relocated to the storage compartment below it, a custom trim piece had to be fabricated to replace the factory frame for the vent and radio, and more. Plus I wanted integrated satellite, hd radio, and seamless integration with my Blackberry (i.e. full bluetooth functionality).
Before making the commitment, I stressed out about how easy it would be to botch the job. The folks at Car Toys helped me out by assuring me that high-end dealers send their custom jobs to the Broadway Car Toys (and to my installer - Chris Wilson - specifically). I didn't take their word for it...I confirmed it myself. They took the time to answer all my questions and I felt no pressure whatsoever. Before starting the install, they took inventory of the car's electical functionality to make sure the install left everything at least as good as it was before. After job completion, they even followed up to make sure I was satisfied.
End result: everything works (and just as important...LOOKS!) great!* Chris did a fabulous job, and he did it quickly. I had my car there one night (and only because I brought it in past noon - had it been there that morning I woulda had it back same day).
I have no reservations about going back to the Broadway Car Toys for my next Car Audio project.
* WIth the minor exception of the bluetooth (Handsfree works, but I can't get non-phone audio from the blackberry to the head unit). It would've been nice if they had made that clear about the HU before I went with it. However they did make it right by giving me a free stereo cable so now I can play audio from the blackberry through the HU...just not wirelessly.…
Boooo!!!!!!. What A dissapointment :( I just can't believe it ... bummer!! I tried to get info and then this guy answering the phone was so in a hurry and hang up on me :(
Wacth out if you have a problem!!.
Our experience with Car Toys was not a good one. My Wife wanted a Satilight radi installed in our car. The sales rep - installer worked on her to the point she said enough and started to walk out.
The Manager then agreed to lower all cost for installation, addional charges and came in about 2/3rds of the origanal bid. But the satilight attena did not work properly so she brough it back to be fixed. She got the run around and had to wait for hours to finilly get repaired. Be careful of the up selling and poor service after the fact.
We Will not be back. Buyer Beware!!…
Buyer Beware. Buyer Beware. There are a couple of things you should be aware of if you go to a Cartoys. The salesman will bring in an installer and they will do a tag team routine on you. I know because I had to go to a different location to have more work done. The first installer was overzealous to do a custom installation, turns out he couldnt do it, even though he said he could. The second installer put the radio do deep into the dash, this was a small matter, the third installer edged it out a bit, but I was out the labor cost from the first installer. So my warning is not that they will steer you to overpriced components(which they will),or that they will try to sell you some overpriced maintenance plan(which they will), but it's the luck of the draw as to which installer you get, and the labor charges are non refundable. One positive thing is that you can make friends with the other customers in the store who are going through similar ordeals .…
