yikes is all I can say.... Yikes! Well I've now been to this store twice to try to use a groupon I got a few months ago and had a bad experience both times. I bought the groupon before christmas thinking I could use it for presents. Well, I don't live in denver, I live in boulder and ended up doing most of my xmas shopping there instead, so when I got the reminder from groupon that mine expired on the 5th I made a point to go to violet at 8 pm on Saturday the 5th, since their website said they were open until 9. They were closed, contrary to the posted hours. I contacted the owner who very nicely said I could go ahead and use the groupon the following week, so I told her I would come by on Saturday. Well, due to some work issues (I'm preparing for a trial in two weeks and working really long days - and sometimes nights!!) I was unable to make it on Saturday, so went over my lunch break on Monday the 14th. I explained to the sales associate (who was not the owner) what the situation was, and she a) didn't believe that the owner had given me permission to use the groupon, but b) started to lecture me about how I shouldn't wait to use groupons on the last day! I couldn't believe it, I worked in retail for many years and would never dream of being rude to a customer in this way. I asked her to call the owner to confirm our previous conversation, and I thought maybe she had misunderstood the situation, so repeated that I tried to come when THEIR website said they were open, and they were closed, which isn't really my mistake, it's theirs. She continued to tell me that somehow this was my problem because I waited until the last day. I buy groupons pretty frequently and have used several on the last day and have never had a retailer be rude about it, so I don't know what this lady was thinking, especially since it's really none of her business when I shop, so long as I use the coupon by the expiration - which I tried to do, and couldn't because of their mistake! It was really frustrating. I tried once more to point out that I don't live here, and isn't that the whole point of groupons, to open up your business to people who normally wouldn't shop there? She was still insistent that I should not have waited until the last day to use the coupon. I was so uncomfortable at this point that I just told her never mind, I would just go and try to get my money back from groupon and leave my experience on a review of the store, which is what I am doing now. It's unfortunate because the owner seemed really nice and willing to work with me, and they have cute stuff in the store, but I just was not prepared for the sales staff to be so rude, especially since I frequent small boutiques quite a bit and generally find the staff in such places to be friendly and helpful compared to department stores. I'm not impressed. I'm a 31-year-old professional that loves to shop, and I even love to shop several of the designer labels I saw on display in the store, but I don't think it's appropriate to lecture a customer and make them feel bad about something that was YOUR mistake to begin with. I say if you go, go when the owner is actually there, and call and confirm the hours first. And for god's sake, definitely don't try to use your groupon on the last day unless you want to be lectured very rudely!!
LOVE THAT STORE.
Edward Dorian of Denver is my favorite store!!!!!
It has the best selection of stylish clothing around.
Stacy, is awesome. The friendliest, most helpful there is.
The shoes are the greatest. Sooooo cute and fashionable, with a wide price selection.
Great clothing, handbags, jewelry.........
It's always my first stop!
unique. Though Edward Dorian isn't inexpensive, you are guaranteed to find one-of-a-kind clothes that are well made of high quality fabrics.
