Seriously people... stop complaining. A credit company is not supposed to be your friend. You get "stuck" with places like SCF if you have zero credit or bad credit. They give you a chance when nobody else will. If you want to avoid "harassing" calls all you have to do is pay your bill.
I've been with SCF for a year now. My credit stinks and they were the only lender who would take me on last year when I really needed a car. I was a single mom who had been out of work due to serious medical issues (hence the inability to pay my other bills). I desperately needed a new car when the one I had blew up (seriously, the engine blew).
Has SCF ever been unfriendly to me? Yes! Is it because I didn't pay my bill on time? Yes! I've been late on my payment and they call... That's how creditors work. Their calling and being less than friendly has been MY FAULT. If I'd paid my bill on time, I wouldn't have heard from them. I accept that.
What all you complainers need to do is take a step back and see how you are to blame for your own situation. SCF doesn't "harass" you simply because they're bored; they do it because they want to know where the money you PROMISED to pay is.
I, for one, am thankful that they gave me the opportunity to have the vehicle I need. I haven't been the best customer (due to financial problems) and I take full responsibility for that. It's not their fault I'm a risk... just like it's not their fault YOU'RE a risk. I just hope that if I ever need another vehicle and my credit still sucks, SCF will be there to help me again.

Should be put out of buisness. not everyone is that kid of client some are just people with no credit like my 20 year old daughter who had gotten down to 8 months left oh sure they were helpful when she owed more than the car was worth but after she got down to $1000 and 5 months left on loan the repossed it when she was only 20 days past she sent the past due payment on a friday and the next months on monday 3 days early and repossed it anyway. Then they turned out to be ugly telling her that if she couldn't afford the car after leaving her abusive boyfriend maybe she should have stayed. The lady made her cry stating if she wasn't such a bum etc. my daughter works hard and is only 20 so she didn't know what to do. They treatened her with garnishmehnt of every dime even if it made her homeless etc. just nasty well when they could make a profit s they charge her all these fees 900 left on car 600 repo fee impound fees. Stated she could pay them $1800 dollard now or in payments with interest. They repoed it with the intent on making money off a young girls distress. Even hired someone to follow her around after she got off work. Following a 20 year old girl home from work every night isnt that stalking. i only give them a one because it wont let you put it in if no star given.
Security Capital uses illegal tactics. These people called my phone looking for someone else. When I informed them they had the wrong phone # they laughed and hung up. Ten minutes later they called again using a false caller ID and number. When I tried to tell the jerk he is wrong he hung up again. So I called their office # and was greeted with a nasty attitude woman who would not listen to my complaint at all and started yelling over my voice. They used some sort of illegal phone tag to appear as someone else and I will be reporting this to the BBB and Jefferson County District Attorneys office. WARNING, choose another lender. There are professionals out there and Security Capital is NOT one of them.
MONSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. This company is the worst bank to go through they are monsters they treat you like a piece of S***. They are demeaning, condescending, disrescpetful and down right rude. If you want to sign a deal with the devil and give up your first born then there the place to go. Just because you have bad credit (mine due to medical bills) doesnt make you less of a person nor should you be treated any diffrent than someone with a+ credit. This company should'nt even be in business there a lawsuit waiting to happen. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM go anywhere else ANYWHERE I dont care how DESPERATE you are THEY WILL SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to a buy here pay here lot. Please hear my warning people STAY AWAY. Like the person before me said there is NO FORGIVENESS you will be car less and in debt with them!!!!!

I know what i set myself up for, i have aweful credit, wanted a car loan and SCF was willing to give it to me. I understand why the hassle people, they are a high risk agency. I have made more than a years worth of on time payments to them and lost my job. I was 23 days late but had no source of income and was told "either pay in full today or trun in your car."
wow payment reputation doesn't matter with these guys they simply don't give a f*** about your situation, i would understand if i was a new customer or had late payments but nope doesn't matter.

I found this site while looking for the phone number on Google and I was really surprised by the reviews.
My wife has been doing business with them for just about 1 year now. About 6 months into her loan she had to go on Short Term disability from her work and my hours were cut in half due to the economy. Since then we have had to be late on nearly every payment.
These folks have been fantastic, specifically Jaimey(sp?). They are very understanding and have worked with use every step of the way. Some months we have been as much as 20 days late and as long as we keep them in the loop, they do not hassle us.
The only advice I can give you guys is to not avoid them if you are having trouble. Be honest and straightforward and they will work with you.

For the past four months I have dealt with this company for an auto loan. In four months, I (and my fiance) have been mistreated and disrespected by every single person who has contacted myself or my fiance. No one seemed to understand that we are humans and unfortunate events happen in our life that keep us from paying our loans!
I HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT do business with them! I would rather go without a car for months or years than deal with them!

Yep, they finance almost anyone. No credit? Bad credit? No Problem!! All you need is a job and a few dollars down! And it's the truth! You put your money down, they verify your job and pay, and you have your very own hooptie in your driveway. The interest is horrible, and the payment is high, but you have a ride to work, and no more public transport, my man! Aint it grand?
But, here's the rub, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT be one day late on your payment, EVER, or you will be on some collector's list from now on. You will receive a daily call at your work, you home, your wife's work, and possibly your child's school, to remind you that your payment is due in two days, in one day, today, and was due yesterday, etc. Within a couple of days of your due date, you may expect to see the tow truck in your drive at two A.M., repo-ing that sweet hooptie right out from under your nose!
So, here's what you need to know. SCF serves a valuable service. They make automotive loans to people who have credit that does not RATE a loan. They loan to people who do not deserve loans. Get it? People who should ride the bus, get cars due to SCF.
For this service, they charge way more interest than they should charge anyone in their right minds. The payments are way too high, and the cars they finance are usually crap. But, you know what? The people who get their financing through them don't even bother to read their contract. Either because they're not interested, they can't read, or they're too stupid to bother.
SCF employs some of the meanest collectors that the world has ever know. These people eat fire, and will eat you up and spit you out. They have no mercy and no compassion. They DO NOT CARE if you loose your job due to their calls, or give your wife an ulcer, or scare your child to death. All they want is the the payment, and they want it yesterday. Want to know why? They answer to a boss who is even meaner than they are, and he will fire them in a New York minute if they let ONE deadbeat get by without getting that payment made. He will yell and scream until the veins pop out on his forehead and the collectors want to run and hide. THAT's the reason they are so mean to you.
So. If you are stupid enough to deal with SCF, here is how it works. You agree to the interest rate. You agree to the payment amount, and you agree to make the payment. On time. Every time. Every single time. If you do this, you will not have problems with this company that shouldn't even exist. If you are ignorant enough to deal with this business in the first place.
BAD Company. Honestly, Sunnshiney, I feel bad that you had to work for this company, regardless if you felt abused by the customers. Anyway, I bought my car when I was nineteen, and I had to go 'sub par' because I basically had no credit and I was buying my first car. From the start, this company was dreadful. Within the first two months they were calling me asking me about my payment two weeks before my payment was even due! After having the car for a year, and making my payments on time, I might add, I missed a payment due to cutbacks at work. No problem- I called Security Capital and explained my situation. They were understanding at first, and agreed to give me two weeks until my next paycheck. Within two days, they were calling not only my cell phone, but my work numerous times in a day. I actually had to get a letter notarized stating that they were not to call me at my work place because the calls were so continuous, my boss threatened to fire me. After that, I made sure my payments were on time, but I kept getting harassing letters. Finally, this past October (with my last car payment in December), I called to ask about the process of receiving my title to my car, when a gentleman told me (and according to the recording when you call Security Capital, this call was recorded) that my LAST car payment wasn't due til November. Awesome, I thought. Nope- I just received a letter from them (no phone calls for once) stating that they're turning my account to their attorneys. Fine, as they don't have a case. I kept all my receipts, and proof from the post office that I mailed them on certain dates. Bottom line: I am so sick of this company. I wouldn't wish ill on anyone, but I certainly hope that karma catches up to these people and fast. Going belly up would be too kind for these people.
People, what's your problem, really?. Alright, I’m going to open a can of worms here while I’m on it. I ran across these reviews while browsing this evening, trying to google and get a phone number for a previous co-worker, and I must say I’ve found these slightly amusing. Really people? I used to work for this company and I must say that as ill-based as these remarks have been towards SCF’s employees and … what was it? Oh yes, “Poor customer service skills”, there was no mention of the clientele’s treatment of this company. I have worked for three financial institutions in my time. Two of which for collections, and I have never been cursed at and treated the way that I had been treated while working at SCF. Of course, I had never had to deal which such sub-par clientele either, so I guess you get that trash that you sign on, right? I never cursed, shouted at, or abused a customer. However, for some reason, the client’s always felt the need to curse, shout at, and abuse me. I cannot tell you how many first payment defaults I saw while working here, at least five or six a month. How’s that their fault? They never received a dime. However, I did witness Pat completely give away a car that was almost 4 months past due to a cancer patient, and for some un-Godly reason allow a certain customer who ‘s loan constantly sat on my “out for repo list”, drive off with a payment arrangement at almost 6 months past due (oh, she never paid… and we didn’t get the car back because she disappeared… again.. so the company had to eat that), simply because she bothered to stop by. I’m not an advocate people, I was laid off after I had my baby (ooops.. that gives me a way, doesn’t it?), but grow up. I personally have had the” joy” of speaking with their customers and I can assure you on a personal note (because I no longer have to answer to SCF or their clients) that the employees “enjoy” talking to you, just as much as you do to them. And not answering your phone (to those who advised that in their previous posts) is a one-way ticket to repossession, so go ahead, try it and see. I have no hard feelings towards this company. They are only trying to do what they can to stay in business during traumatic financial times. I’m just surprised that, by my understanding through reading these emails, they’re still giving washed up deadbeats loans… Oh, it’s “financial” not “finachial”.. That’s just irritating. Here’s a thought, just a thought.. if you cannot afford to make car payments… don’t buy a car!
