A One-Of-A-Kind Japanese Aikido Experience. Nippon Kan is a great place to learn the traditional art of aikido! I cannot say enough about this dojo: it's beautiful, the instructors and other members are kind and patient, and aikido is accessible to anyone and everyone!

I have been practicing a little over a year now, and have progressed continually at my own pace. There is no rush to test or learn everything, and all of the instructors teach with this in mind. There are many beginners cycles throughout the year, and all of the members that are there to help teach make the experience incredible.

One of the main reasons I keep going is because there is something for everyone in aikido, including me! I am on the smaller side, yet I can successfully train with someone three times my size. Everyone practices to improve their strengths and weaknesses. It's a great place to discover who you are and what you are looking for. I strongly urge everyone and anyone to give aikido at Nippon Kan a try!!

Solid, Traditional Aikido Dojo. I have practiced two Martial Arts over the last 10 years at several schools, Nippon-Kan is by far the most unique and down to earth training experience I have been a part of thus far. The monthly dues are low and after the beginners course you can take over ten classes per week. The student group is tight knit and helpful. Overall I continue to attend because of the positive, patient instruction , high level of respect each student has for one another and the simple fact that you can learn at your own pace (no rush to test, feel welcome on the mat with more advanced members). Definitely worth watching a class here if you are looking for an Aikido school in Denver.

Awesome experience. What a place! I've found a second home in Nippon Kan. The students are very friendly and helpful and the instructors are very knowedgeable. Homma Kancho, as the founder of the school, brings so much knowledge and experience to Denver and the school and it really shines through the student body. The focus of the learning is not about winning, beating the other guy, but instead working together with them to resolve problems. Instead of focusing on perpetuating conflict, the students help teach each other to value diversity and learn from each other to unite in a single cause.

This place is also the home to the Aikido Humanitarian Active Network. This organization benefits the Denver area by feeding the homeless and partnering with the City of Denver to maintain parks, as well as sponsoring programs around the world! Supporting orphanages, providing computers to schools, and raising money for children's cancer research are just a few of the activities they have engaged in.

If you want to learn a martial art, AND meet some great people, AND help take care of the world, this is the place to do it!

Great Aikido Dojo. Nippon Kan is a good place to learn Aikido and Japanese culture. I took the 6 week Beginner’s Aikido class at Nippon Kan to experience Aikido. At first I was a bit nervous because I did not have any Aikido experience. Contrary to my nervousness, the instructor was courteous and helpful and made everyone feel welcome. The dojo at Nippon Kan is large and full of vitality. I really enjoyed the class, atmosphere and environment.

Aikido is originally from Japan and Nippon Kan also teaches many things about Japanese culture, manners and customs. I find it very interesting to be able to learn another culture while learning Aikido.

I also enjoy the times that are available to meet with new friends and eat and drink together in the Musubi bar.

Go to Nippon Kan and see with your own eyes, what a good place it is.
