My Daughter wanted a true Italian dinner for her birthday and we had always heard good things about Abrusci's. We made reservations because we thought it would be packed. There were only 2 other tables. I suppose that should have been a good indication of how our dining experience would be!! The waiter was very brash and not very helpful in guiding us thru the menu as we were debating on family style or ind.. We had to ask for suggestions and even then not much help. All through diner he just seemed to be irritated we were taking up his time. Hopefully he was just having a bad day and doesn't always act like that. Otherwise he is in the wrong industry. The calimari was very good, but every thing else fell flat. The veal marsala and the spaghetti marinara being the worst. Poorly cooked and no flavor. The waiter also forgot our mediterranean salad. By that point we didn't even bother. So sad, I really wanted this to be a special meal. Still looking for a real Italian experience!
Pros: calimari
Cons: poor service, food needs flavor

I highly recommend this neighborhood Italian restaurant. My husband and I first went to Abrusci's for a club event, and even though it is across town from home, we occasionally make the trip to eat there. My husband has even brought home take-out when he found himself in the area for other reasons! The bar is pleasant, although we have never had a long wait for a table. The wine selection is good. The chef is very good. The servings are large and we often take home leftovers. We usually start by sharing a Caesar salad. My favorite dish is Steve's Rigatoni with Sausage and my husband's favorite is the Chicken Marsala. Service has always been excellent. If you are looking for better-than-average Italian food, I highly recommend that you try Abrusci's.
