Dont Do It!. I keep informing people that this is a " R " establishment I cant say the R word or this wont post. Why we keep taking this type of disrespect Im not sure. But the evening I went, my sisters were ripped off via credit card; we had just paid to get in and went straight to the bar; while they ordered their drinks unfortunately they gave them their credit card first; as we waited for there drinks the short one w/ the dark hair came back to them as if nothing; when they asked for their drinks he swore up and down he had already given them there drinks, as an argument started they whistled over for security as well as the police officers to come over. We tried to insist give the money back or just give us the drinks. As we were escorted out and tried to explain to the officer's the situation, of course they could care less. We kept trying to show the receipt that we hadnt even been there five minutes so how is it that he gave them there drinks a long time ago "is what he told the police". Even the "Brother who worked the door who remembered us coming in not too long ago wouldnt say a word" nor the guy taking the money @ the door. The officers just stated take it to civil court.

Two weeks later a friend of my sisters stated they were their and outside socializing amongst themselves and a group of other females were started up " those black girls aint shyt" etc.... so an argument started to pursue but no one walked up to one another they were just getting loud back and forth, explain why security came, snatched her up and man handled this 120lb girl almost slamming her to the floor, and they were kicked out, but of course the non african american girls were able to not only stay but nothing was even said to them. This place needs to be shut down. I have fond memories of The Heartthrob from years and years ago, but those fond memories are just that, memories, since then it's turned into a total stink hole.

They took out all of the cute 60's decor (The beetle is no more and the black light lounge is teeny) and halved the club, so one half is retro and the other half is supposed to be a hip-hop club. They charge a cover charge at the door (It's unbelievable because the place stinks so much) and they charge 5 dollars for a weak single-shot house liquor cocktail served in a teeny tiny plastic cup. The music is horrible, and although the DJ on the retro side seems like a nice guy, he can't transition between songs very well, so it's awkward to dance to.

The club patrons are sketchy at best, and to be honest, I barely wanted to park my car there. I did not feel safe at all. Some of the people going into the Heartthrob looked like gang-bangers, and it wouldn't surprise me if they have a shooting there some night. It's THAT bad. The place has taken a turn for the worse and now it has the feel of a club that belongs in North Aurora or Commerce City (that translates to "bad club with bad people") I could only stay for 30 minutes because the place was just so bad.

I wouldn't suggest this club to anyone, not even a former club goer who wants to return for a night of nostalgia like I did. You will leave disappointed and find your pleasant memories gone.

They ripped me off. DO NOT trust these guys with your credit card. They charged a bunch of extra money on my credit card and even made extra transactions that caused me to have over $200.00 in overdrafts. Because of them I now am locked into a struggle with my bank to remove the charges and because of lost time and money I will not be seeing my family for Christmas this year as they are out of town and now I don't have enough money to get a airline ticket. WARNING to all who patronize Catamaran Liquor Stand Club-formerly Hearthrobs. WARNING TO ALL WHO PATRONIZE THE CATAMARAN LIQUOR STAND NIGHTCLUB, FORMERLY THE HEARTHROB NIGHTCLUB - If you patronize this club you should be aware that the bouncers/security personnel here will use excessive physical force against you when searching you at the door, including grabbing your arms, throwing you on the floor and out the door, no matter whether you are female or male. The manager will not care but will slam the door in your face. People of low caliber and criminal background frequent this club. Since the club was taken over by new management and became the "Catamaran" violence and incidents at the club have increased, undesirables of society frequent this substandard nightclub.
