Could potentially be so much better. First I will start with the good...the chips and salsa are incredible. The chips are thin and crispy, and usually pretty fresh. The salsa has a very nice spice to it. I also really like the enchilada sauce and green chili. They have decent tamales as well.

But...

Their ground beef is disgustingly greasy. I mean to a point where the taco shell is soaked and no longer crunchy. If you tip the taco on the side, the grease will run out on to your place for several minutes. If you order a meal that has an item containing the beef, expect there to be a pool of grease on your plate. So...I can no longer order anything with ground beef there. I would also like it if the chicken were white meat and not mixed white and dark (though this is pretty common in Mexican restaurants).

I have had mixed experiences with the service, but it's usually pretty decent.

I would love to give this restaurant a higher rating, but that greasy ground beef really sort of ruins the place for me. I will still eat there on occasion, but I'm pretty limited on what I can order. If they would only drain off all that nasty grease!

BEST AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. Totally worth the price (not pricy, but more than most Mexican restaurants in the area) and for good reason. Service is great, and you can't beat the food. I eat here at least once a week for lunch (but you'd better get in before 11:30 am or the lunch crowd will be out the door).

Great Mexican food near the Federal Center. This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is one of the best kept secrets near the Denver Federal Center. Although the secret seems to be getting out - it can be quite crowded at lunch time - get there before 12 if you can. The food is excellent, the portion sizes are ample, and the price is reasonable. There is always a daily special which is a great deal. When we have guests at work, this is usually where I take them for lunch - they can accomodate large groups in their second room (down a very steep ramp - probably not good for the disabled). Overall, I highly recommend it!

Good Tex-Mex. Being from Dallas I have a hard time finding decent Tex-Mex in Denver. This place is one of my favorites and and the tortilla soup is some of the best I've had.
