The Colorado GGs. We are a group of 8
Opus, Opus, get it together!. Used to love this restaurant but have seen it go down hill more and more each time I visit. Service especially. Just called (as instructed by my certificate) and apparently was a nuisance to the host. His flippant attitude wasn't appreciated. With so many options in Denver, I don't see myself making the effort to go all the way to Littleton to be treated like a burden. Sorry Opus, I will be spending my time and money elsewhere.…
Worst Restaurant in Colorado. Basically they charged my credit card double for a meal and would not reimburse me for the money they stole. The food wasn't that great, but I was disgusted on how Micheal Griffin hung up on me and refused to help a customer who PAID TWICE for one meal. I would never eat there again and I am completely disgusted with their level of nonprofessional business practices'. Opus is a poor example of fine dining. They should be boycotted.…
Service Improvements, Restaurant Week. Things have improved here since our first and only meal at Opus several years ago when we moved to Denver. We ordered one of two Restaurant Week options. I must first say that service and organization this time was crisp, quick and pleasant. The dishes were properly prepared, a minimum requirement for me. The now-common mesclun salad, was small and simple, but with subtle flavor additions and served at room temp., not cold. Nice enough. Next came shredded bison over mashed potatoes, with pleasant though unremarkable flavor. Last , dessert, was a smattering of preserved fruit in a hard pastry crust. My companion had a panna cotta, another dish one finds everywhere now. It wa ssmall, but better made than most. So, 3 points for one area of improvement and basic, correct prep., but no more because of the unimaginative RW offerings and Opus ' insistence on adding a higher-priced "premium" version RW option on the facing menu page. Sort of a backhanded insult really, suggesting that, if they must, they'll do a "low-priced" RW menu for the riff-raff, but they'll also offer a "better" menu for those with taste. As Denver grows and more restaurants come in to offer quality cuisine at competitive prices, maybe Opus pricing will evolve past this pricing obsession that has played a part in alienating customers.…
Terrible Service. Planned a nice Christmas Ladies Lunch at Opus. Had a reservation and arrived on time. Finally greated by a busy waiter who addressed us by the wrong name. After we were seated,no one came to take a beverage order. After waiting 15 minutes,I got up and looked for a waiter. When I approached the waiter, he said "what do you want, hon?" I asked for service and finally got a wine list and a smart remark from said waiter when I asked about gluten free items. We ladies waited 30 minutes and still no one came to take our beverage order, let alone our lunch ortder. We left and went somewhere else. For a reportly fine restaurant, the service was extremely sloppy and slow. Will not ever go back to such a poorly managed establishment.…
