Editorial Review for Ted's Montana Grill – by Jennifer Olvera
In Short
Lots of mahogany, tin ceilings, metal crown molding and Arts and Crafts-style décor prevail at this casual, comfortable saloon, part of media mogul Ted Turner's domain. Beef and bison are king, and they're hand-cut on site. Other bites include beer-can chicken, bison prime rib and cedar planked salmon. For dessert, there's home-made cookies, Kahlua fudge brownies, Coke floats and strawberry shortcake.

We had a party of 6, called at the last minute for reservations, and were seated promptly. Nice wine and beer selection with a bunch of microbrews. You can eat anything from an $8 burger to a $25 bison steak here, casual or dressy. I'd agree with the previous reviewer, the onion rings are nothing special, appetizer selection pretty limited. Four of us guys ordered the bison steaks and were pleased. We were intrigued by the Beer Can Chicken on the menu, but we went for Ted's bison instead. Definitely will try the chicken next time... Auntie's squash side dish can be skipped. Service was good. Overall, I would recommend it for a nice casual dinner for any budget.
Pros: Value, Service, Menu selection

I eat lunch out everyday downtown and the 5 times I've been here the only consistant things about this restaurant are the slow service and crappy burgers. The last two times I even tried to explain my previous burger disappointments to my waiters -- mainly that medium does not mean bloody to the point that the bun becomes a soggy mess. My friends always get a chicken sandwich here for a reason! It seems there is no forethought to service here, everyone including the managers have a reactive and not proactive service approach.
Pros: chicken sandwich
Cons: burgers, service
