Editorial Review for Osaka Sushi – by Wendy Wall
The Scene
Two rectangular rooms make up this casual eatery--one inside and one cozy, glass-enclosed patio decorated with twinkling white holiday lights. Less than 20 tables create the dining space for couples and families, while a lengthy sushi bar lined with pale wood and chrome chairs creates a comfortable option for singletons.
The Food
It's hard to believe that fish in Denver can be so fresh. The menu here is typical, offering a healthy selection of standards ranging from miso soup to combo specials to noodle bowls. But most people come for the sushi. Rolls are weighty and abundant, but the Alaskan (smoked salmon, crab and avocado) and the Las Vegas (apple, tuna, salmon, cucumber, masago) are especially good. Shrimp tempura is lightly battered and pleasing. Unagi has a tendency to be a tad bit too fishy. Dinner is followed by an orange, carefully cut and arranged to look like a teddy bear.

This restaurant used to be good but when we went tonight it was horrible. The sushi tasted "old" and the pieces were tiny. To top it off, the service was miserable. They only brought us half the food and made us feel bad for actually asking where the rest of the order was. We had to beg to get the bill. We will not be going there again.
Pros: Good parking
Cons: Bad food, bad service and staff smoking out back

My boyfriend and I love sushi and enjoy trying new restaurants. We loved Osaka! The fish was really fresh! We have been to Sushi Den, which is also very good, but we think Osaka is better. We didn't have to wait to be seated like at Sushi Den. The sushi was amazing! Very tastey. More sushi to choose from than Sushi Den. The staff was very nice too. She helped us make our choices and all were very good!! YUMMY!!!!!!
Pros: Fresh fish, friendly staff
Cons: I can't think of any.
