Editorial Review for Osaka Sushi – by Wendy Wall
The Scene
Two rectangular rooms make up this casual eatery--one inside and one cozy, glass-enclosed patio decorated with twinkling white holiday lights. Less than 20 tables create the dining space for couples and families, while a lengthy sushi bar lined with pale wood and chrome chairs creates a comfortable option for singletons.
The Food
It's hard to believe that fish in Denver can be so fresh. The menu here is typical, offering a healthy selection of standards ranging from miso soup to combo specials to noodle bowls. But most people come for the sushi. Rolls are weighty and abundant, but the Alaskan (smoked salmon, crab and avocado) and the Las Vegas (apple, tuna, salmon, cucumber, masago) are especially good. Shrimp tempura is lightly battered and pleasing. Unagi has a tendency to be a tad bit too fishy. Dinner is followed by an orange, carefully cut and arranged to look like a teddy bear.

I live just a few blocks from Osaka, so I've dined there multiple times. Every single time I've been there it has been consistently fabulous! The staff & the service deserve an A+! One of my favorite cuts of sushi is Spanish Mackerel. EVERY time I've been to Osaka the Spanish Mackerel has been outstanding. Not to take away from the rest of the menu, every cut of fish & every roll I have put in my mouth at this restaurant has been ridiculously good tasting ;) Great sake, relaxing atmosphere, outdoor patio, plenty of parking. I highly recommend a trip to Osaka.
Pros: Great service, wonderful food, highly recommended.
Cons: I can't think of any.

I would give them 2 stars but the sushi was good. Service avg, happy hour has drink specials only, sushi is regular price. The meal was good but overpriced. atmosphere - too warm with fans blowing everywhere (no a/c, or at least not turned on), and oh yeah, it was overpriced.
Pros: decent food
Cons: overpriced
