The Pizza Trio ordered the antipasto salad and a fiesta sized 1/2 cheese and 1/2 sausage and onion pizza. The salad was tasty but the sweet red peppers on top were strange (not bad, but different.) The salad dressing was good (a vinagarette) and it came with free bread (nothing special.) The pizza was large, filled with toppings and is by far the best pizza in Colorado. The Trio compares most other pizza places to Aurelio's as it exceeds all pizza standards! The sauce is homemade daily and makes the pizza what it is. The sausage is also homemade and was voted the best sausage anywhere by one member of the Trio (and he has eaten a LOT of pizza in his day!) This is by far the best pizza and is worth the price. I believe the restaurant gets all it's ingredients flown out fresh from Chicago and it is well worth it. The only down side is that at the Hampden location, there isn't in-store seating. You can go across the street to Devon's Pub and play some pool while you wait (you can eat there too) or order from the pub as they have menus on hand. Try this pizza- you won't be disappointed, you'll be hooked!

Denver doesn't know it but they are one of the lucky cities outside of Chicago to have an Aurelios Pizza within reach. Growing up in Chicago I remember Saturday nights at Aurelios, talking about the week and coming together as a family. When I moved to Denver in 2005 I searched all over the city to find a pizza that could come close to the pizza at home. But all I found was cheaply produced thin crust and horribly attempted Chicago style pizza. Then one day while web surfing I found that an Aurelios had opened here. It doesn't the Chicago Aurelios justice. The thin crust sausage pizza will be the BEST pizza you have ever tasted, trust me. The spinach salad is also a great lighter choice if you like, but it's really all about the pizza. The prices are good for the about of pizza you get, the staff is always friendly, and the food is always quickly prepared. So I urge anyone in Denver that hasn't had authentic Chicago thin crust pizza to jump on I-25 and head to Aurelios.
