In Short – Don't be fooled by the name: This boisterous bar doesn't serve any grilled items. In fact, there's no food served at all. Instead, visitors find a lively gay scene with nightly drink specials and different activities every evening. Events range from raucous "twisted" bingo called by transvestites on Wednesdays and Broadway musical sing-alongs on Mondays to karaoke on Tuesdays and Sundays. There's also a pool table and outdoor patio space for mingling on warm nights. –
Great Nightlife

JRs is awesome for the drinks that I get. My special drink is Vodka/Pineapple mixed. They make it as strong as I want it. The seating is horrible, because If you want a seat you have to get there early, but its dead then and who wants to sit in a bar at 7pm when its not on and popping, you heard? I recommend hitting JRs up for some drinks and what not AT NIGHT. As far as them serving food....I believe that during the day time they actually serve food. Or why else would a lot of business people go there ON THEIR LUNCH BREAK? Drink up and be merry.
- Pros: Great Drinks
- Cons: Seating

JR's is okay. The nice part is that the people there are diverse. The bad part is that the people there are diverse. What does that mean? It means the f@g hags and the straight girls don't seem to get that it is, in fact, a gay bar. You will see lesbians there. Get over it. We're not hitting on you. (And you're not that hot anyway) The boys have always been nice, though. I would suggest if you're uncomfortable in a gay bar, go somewhere else.
- Pros: Nice patio in the summer
- Cons: Not enough seating in the colder months
JR's serves water - it's official

I've been hearing these rumors for awhile and found out for myself last night. We went there for New Years to bring in the new one there. Six vodka drinks later, nuthin. Not even a buzz, and I don't really drink. Normally if I go out and get a big draught beer it's gets me a bit buzzy. I had vodka sours and watched them put the vodka in the drink... a lot of vodka from watching them pour. Hmmmm, tasted like sweet & sour only. My friends from out of town had gin & tonics. Sure as hell didn't taste like gin. I wasn't even the first one that noticed. My friends that had never been there before asked if they were watering down the drinks. My other friend had a vodka martini, which he said tasted only like olive juice. After a couple rounds and wasted money, we said screw it and left. As we were leaving we ran into someone we know that said one of their friends mentioned that their drinks seemed to be water all night. So we went downtown to another bar and two of my friends had a gin and tonic there and knew we were getting screwed at JR's. This seems just recent too. I used to go there and get trashed on less than what we had drank there last night. Not sure what their deal is.
I'm sorry guys & gals, you can flame me if you want but when you've spent a few $100 on drinks and aren't even buzzed yet you should maybe think about what you're drinking.
- Pros: It's a nice little bar with a good environment
- Cons: serves water instead of drinks, not really a good place to meet people (too many cliques)
