Every good city has something like this: hole-in-the-whole only locals know with an ambience that usually scares anyone that doesn't know about it away. Quick, value filled, and just plain good. Combos under $6 for lunch (at when when I was going...alas, I moved out of state) that includes a meat dish, two sides, and a drink. Eclectic inside and on the menu. Fresh prawn/shrimp chips by the lunch sack full for $1. No more grease fires in the kitchen. No real seating but there are a couple of plastic tables and chairs just off the walk up window. Bring cash, a friend to watch the car and try the signature bourbon chicken.

A former meat eater, I used to love this place. I'd bring my chicken and mac/cheese with me to the Oh My Goddess! cafe and read a book. It's not for everybody, but a non-discerning and hungry everyman will find this hits the spot.
Pros: fast, yummy, cheap
Cons: mystery meat
