Worst restaurant experience ever! The owner was YELLING at my girlfriend for simply not liking the food. Let me say that again, HE WAS LITERALLY YELLING AT US IN FRONT OF EVERYONE and disrespecting my cute little innocent girlfriend. I have never heard of this happening and I still can't even believe it myself. Ok so here's what happened.

We are not picky eaters at all. Nor are we complainers (this is my first negative review anywhere) so after she tried the sandwich and didn't like it we weren't even gonna say anything. But when the server, who was super nice, came over and asked what was wrong with her sandwich, she said she just didn't care for it. That's when THE SERVER said he would take it from her and see about not charging us. So it was his idea to take the sandwich off our bill.

So, when we went up to the register to pay the owner, he immediately began to harass us. My girlfriend tried to explain what happened and said she would pay. But he just continued to offend her saying she shouldn't order something she's not going to eat. He even went so far as to bring us her sandwich the server took that he saved to try and say she didn't eat enough to know if it was good or not even though there were two obvious bites taken. So, when I finally spoke up he was irate and yelling at us for costing him money after we told him several times we don't mind paying.

Beyond the incredibly offensive owner, the restaurant itself wasn't even clean. Our silverware was dirty (we didn't complain), there were unfinished booths with exposed wood, dirty walls and floor, an overall run down feeling and our appetizer came out after our entrees.

I can't believe we were yelled at by a restaurant owner in public. And I mean YELLED. Unbelievable!

Please take note and choose a different BBQ place in town. This one is overall, terrible.

Best BBQ in Denver. I'm reading the "negative" reviews, and I'm just shocked. It's BBQ people...is spicy. First off, the meat is smoked using only hickory wood. No rub. The meat is not "spicy" because of that. You can pick your sauce and they will let you sample all they have and they have over 10 flavors (and you can blend them too)

Best smoked ribs, with the best meat in Denver. And their ribs are 5+...meaning they have a lot of meat on the bones before cooking, and something they have to special order to get, so your bang for you buck is more.

You want a dry rub? Not Jabo's You want a Memphis wet rub? not Jabo's? Want a basic Oklahoma/Texas/Louisiana smoked rib?.....you finally found the place baby!

Jabo's BBQ in DTC. Being a BBQ smoker myself (and a pretty darn good one) I had to check this place out, especially after all the rave reviews.Very friendly staff and owner. I order the brisket and was pleased. However, I think I should have gotten the sauce on the side. It was good, but I tasted more sauce than the smoked meat. I'm a strong believer in that the "meat should speak for itself." I didn't get the smoky flavor I like outta of it but the sauce was pretty darn good. They have many flavors of sauces to choose from (which can be good and bad) and you can ask to have any of them made spicy . If you like bread with you meat (meaning on a bun) they are huge and divine. I didn't have any sides, so I can't tell ya how they are. Overall, not too bad and I'll go back to try other things. I would recommend they get a take out menu. I was directed to a website, but never found the darn thing. One other note that I should mention, if you plan on using a credit card, you'll need to spend at least 10 bucks. I didn't see anything about that until I got ready to pay at the register. Oops!

The best BBQ in Denver. I've been eating at Jabo's since he had a smoker setup in a dirt parking lot. I've never gone away hungry, always stuffed. BBQ is not cheap anywhere, his pricing is in-line with the other joints in this area. You can't go wrong with the heat level of the sauce (mild to habanero) you pick or the flavor, the fruit based ones are outstanding. KbR should have chosen more wisely. You won't find a more knowledgeable guy when it comes to smoking meat. I'm having lunch there on Friday and looking forward to a Jabo-dog(polish sausage on a big bun covered with pork)!

Overpriced/Average. II went for "the best bbq in Denver" and was disappointed. Just decent. For 17.50 (-5% for cash) the Rib/Chicken bbq dinner had 2 (yes only 2) pork ribs atop a small bit of shredded chicken (boneless?), 2 of the smallest sides possible (literally 1/2cup of sweet pot fries--they were good), and 2 "scones" that were pure sugar and disgusting. As for the ribs, they had a nice hickory taste but no bark and they were a bit dry. I had "conventional" "hot" sauce and it was not worth mentioning. Very average I would say, and just get the meat by the pound since the "dinner" seemed like a rip off. The service and Jabo himself were very nice.
