Disgustingly dirty servers.... (Note: I sent this to two staff members at the Golden City Brewery 10 days before I posted this on CitySearch. No one bothered to respond.)

Usually we sit in the yard with the rest of the patrons. But, on the afternoon of Sunday, June 12, it was too crowded, so we relented and sat inside.

Watching the poor sanitary habits of the barmaids, one in particular, made me want to get away from there and we will probably not return. The nasty actions of the one three-hundred-pound girlie in the skin tight purple and black tank top with the cut-away back, and the rolls of belly fat falling over the tops of her jeans was absolutely disgusting. She scratched her head and her greasy hair, she scratched her bare armpits, she scratched her belly fat, then she grabbed beer classes with those same gooey hands, filled them with beer and delivered them to the customers. Both of today's barmaids delivered the filled glasses by grabbing them from above and wrapping their finger tips on the rims of the glasses -- where the customer puts their mouth. (It has been a long time since I waited tables, but that was one of the first things I was taught...don't put your fingers on the rims of drinking glasses.)

The final straw was when this big girl attacked a huge Starbucks dessert drink while serving beer to the patrons. She opened the drink, stuck her fingers into it and licked the whipped cream off her fingers, then she grabbed more beer glasses to fill and serve to customers. I spoke up, and she got snotty with me. We left.

The dirty practices of the serving staff is a health hazard to all who patronize this otherwise charming enterprise. I challenge all the fans of this place to spend some time in the dining room and watch how the staff of the Golden City Brewery miss-handles your brews.

Great Brews, Outside seating is best. Golden City Brewery is a great brewery and it's tiny. The inside seating area has only two tables but the outdoor beirgarden is quite large so it's a great place to go on a nice day. They are knows for the brews, not their food, so if you're after great food bring your own and they won't be offended. Their brats are good, nachos are bad, burritos are good but they take a while to make. People contunue to visit the brewery for the beer and the outdoor seating so if that's what your after you should stop by Golden City Brewery.
