Editorial Review for Mafiaoza's – by Molly Thompson
In Short
This local favorite fits right into its bustling 12South neighborhood. The dining room is spacious, yet intimate. Couples and families watch through the open kitchen as their food is prepared tantalizingly close to their tables. Expect large portions and fresh ingredients on the multitude of pastas, salads and sandwiches. Pizza is the star here, with atypical ingredients including artichoke hearts, ricotta cheese and eggplant loaded onto New York-style thin and crunchy crust.

This PIZZA Is so SOOOO far away from NY pizza. I moved from NY a year ago and have not had a good pizza since. I was looking forward to trying MAFIAOZA'S. Heard great thing about it. But then again it was from people who have never tasted a real NY PIZZA. THE BIGGEST disappointment I have ever had!!!. It is worst than school pizza it was COLD and the Crust was so Soggy it tasted like it had been out for hours. I asked for onion and cheese It looked and tasted like imitation cheese. To my Understanding pizza is supposed to be hot with melted REAL cheese and with hot tomato sauce, crispy crust. Well for sure you do not get that here. The Only good thing at Mafiaoza's is the 2 for 1 beers. The only reason I would go back is if I want a Cold beer.
Pros: Cold Beers
Cons: pizza

don't get me wrong, I like Mafiaoza's, but it really isn't because of the pizza. Tuesday two for one is pretty enticing. But it is hard to get excited about the pizza. two things that make great pizza to me are the crust and sauce. mafiaoza's has great crust, but the sauce really lacks, the last couple of pizza's I got barely had any at all. A friend ordered the buschetta and it came as a big loaf of bread with the tomatoes just poured over the top. Not really appetizing. For happy hour go to Mafiaoza's, but for Pizza go to Angelos Picnic Pizza.
