beautiful people only. I have been going to HUSH for 3 years, with groups of 5-15 people & we always get in. Just like any bar I recommend you stick to 1 bartender & you'll build a great repore & probably score free drinks! Just like with any of the popular clubs in Denver, you have to know someone, anyone or be with a couple of really cute people, but that's exactly how it is in Hollywood or New York. The door staff picks & chooses the the crowd!
Wow those drinks are strong. I've been quite a few times and plan to go back soon. Girls always get in free. Guys are charged cover. They don't let people in baseball caps or jerseys go in - and that's a good thing to me. The bottle service is great. And the bartenders are really fun when you don't reserve a table. (At first I thought my drink was bad... then I realized it was just REALLY strong.) Only down side: the tables are always reserved so if you want to be able to sit you HAVE to make a reservation for bottle service, which is totally worth it for big nights or going out in a group.
Disgusted!. I've been 5 times over a period of 8 months. The first time, I was treated horribly at the door and vowed to never go again. After hearing how great the place was, I tried again, got in and had a great time. The music was good hip-hop and r&b. The next 3 times, the music was wack! Corny rap songs, most of them dated. R&B defintely left something to be desired. Plus, I never want to go to a sexy, hot lounge or club and hear old songs by Madonna, Janet and Warren G. The crowds were always on the sexy, younger side, but snobbish. Kind of a let down. Word on the street is that the Def Jam poets and crew weren't allowed entrance! The space would make a better exclusive house/acid jazz club with some hip hop mixed in.
did you see the men at hush. I don't know about you guys, but there is no way there is any other bar in town with a staff as hot as the staff at hush. I like the boys, but the girls are drop dead beautiful.
It's getting old. Waste of time. The bartender had no idea how to make two martinis that were ordered and it took her 20 minutes to serve them as it was. The music is good, but the crowd is sadly lacking in style. Can you say 40 somethings who haven't grown out of the nightclub scene -- or rode hard and put home wet? Each would apply. Yuck.
DON'T WASTE YOUR NIGHT!.
Who do these doormen think they are? They wouldn't let they guy in front of me in with open toe shoes on but then guy in back of me they made an exception for...? They didn't charge the 3 people in front of me, or the 20 people that came through the VIP line. And as the guy put the $20 they charged us in his pocket I asked, "why they didn't charge anyone else?" He looked at me and said everyone else is VIP; DO-YOU-UNDERSTAND....?
As I walked down the stairs I saw a the beautiful candels and thought ok pompus doormen-lets have fun. No the bartenders are horrible, the drinks are bad, and there is NO seating unless your a "VIP". Please DON'T WASTE YOUR NIGHT (or your Birthday in my case).
I agree.. I have a denver drinking club of about 150 members. after talking to some of those people who said the crowd is okay but the drinks are pricey along with the cover, I decided to try it anyway. I've tried the past 3 weekends with a group of approx. 8 people and we waited in line for 5 minutes with no movement while they let a few people in ahead of the rest of the line and decided to go elsewhere. So, I agree and wait until the "hush" dies down.
Puhlease.. Having checked out Hush the first few weekends it was open, I was hopeful it would continue to be a must see for lodo nights out.. Drinks were pricy, service was so so but the atmosphere, candlelit and gorgeous made it worthwhile. That was before they started charging 20$ COVER?! At a LOUNGE. In DENVER. This past Saturday night my friends and I left the (empty) velvet ropes of Hush and proceeded to Mynt where we rang up a 147$ bar tab. Could have been yours hush.. WAKE UP.
This place is a joke, from the out of style door girl, to the pretentious manager. I had just come back from Boston and had some NY friends in town so I figured this could be a good place. How freaking embarrassing.
There are too many other places around town with a welcoming attitiude to mess with garbage like this. After talking about it at the next place we went, it seems that this is a common occurance. Lame.
