Zengo

Vibrant urban oasis and a menu highlighting fresh and bold flavors

  • Complementary Valet
  • Located in Riverfront Park
  • Latin-Asian

Zengo is Japanese for "give and take." It is Chef Richard Sandoval's eclectic and energetic Latin-Asian restaurant that has received acclaim for its vibrant, fun atmosphere and light, sharing cuisine.

Editorial Review for Zengo – by Wendy Wall

In Short
Funky and fresh, a hip cacophony of colors and textures defines this upscale loungey spot. A reddish-orange glow cascades over two rooms, loosely divided by a see-through grate. The long bar (topped by geometric lights) zigzags between them. Owner-chef Richard Sandoval (also of Tamayo) presents Asian-Latin fusion food on a tapas-like menu. Most dishes pack a spicy punch, including lemongrass and lime broth tiger shrimp soup and a tidy chopped chicken salad with ginger vinaigrette.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was WONDERFUL. The best California rolls and Calamari in town. Would recommend this for anyone and a great place for drinks.

Pros: valet parking

Cons: music is a bit loud

Zengo's Restaurant draws a sophisticated crowd. Enjoy Mojitos and apps. on the patio as the sun drops down behind the Rockies. Infront, lies a green lush park for a picturesque setting. It is a place to show your stuff and people watch too. Drink, laugh, talk it up while enjoying a pan-asian cuisine at posh place. The staff are fun friendly local Denverites, they will get you whatever you need, just ask. Staff checks in with you continuously to asure that you are satisfied. Been here many times over the years and have made plans to go here for special occasions. It is just a nice place to start with drinks and apps outside, or eat inside it's chic too. Additionally, WALKING DISTANCE off 16th st. mall (or cheap cab fare) from downtown bars, breweries and everything else entertaining. Go.
