Prairie Arms web store is a farce. I Placed an order with Prairie Arms for muzzleloader parts at the end of August and was charged immediately. Web store indicated all items were "in stock" with listed quantities. Turns out this is not their inventory, but their suppliers'.

After numerous emails/calls to find out the status of my order that had been charged to my card the day after I submitted, I finally received a partial shipment a month later - after muzzleloader season had started. Their location is only two days away via UPS, yet it took a month to deliver "in stock" product. I still have yet to receive, or have a refund processed, for the shorted product.

If this is what customer service is, then I want nothing to do with it and neither should anyone else. Steer clear of Prairie Arms unless this is how you want to be treated. They put the "cuss" in customer (dis)service.

Incredible.. My parent wanted to get a concealed weapons permit, and had me tag along. The class was in a small, stuffy room and its lecturer went out of his way to manipulate and talk down to me with loaded questions, all with a condescending smile and insincere tone to really hit it home.

I would never recommend anyone go here.

Great service, Very knowledgable. I have been here a quite a few times and they have always treated me well. Their prices are great and the knowledge of what gun would best suite me was dead on. I also like that they are so close to the highway it makes them easy to get to from anywhere.

Their consignment selection was the best of all the stores I visited. I decided on one of their consignment Pistols and the sales person went over the gun with me making sure I knew what I was looking at.

Great Service - Nice guys. Just bought a $1000 handgun from the webstore and picked it up from their store. Easy transaction and great prices. They are easily the cheapest in Colorado and a nice group to buy from.

Example: great place for good bread. Plan on waiting 20-40 minutes to receive any real help. The owner and the guy that's usually in the back are both knowledgeable but since the owner enjoys talking to his gun shop commandos that visit almost daily instead of taking care of business, it's usually a long wait.

Every gun you want to sell or trade is next to worthless and everything Prairie Arms has is as good as gold ...even though it's the same gun! If you buy a gun at the original price they give you, you've been gouged.

Way Off Target. On June 28/2008 I stopped by Prairie Arms' shop in Littleton to talk about some pieces to put together my rifle. I placed the deposit and was getting ready to take off when he commented that I should check back within a couple of days to ?make sure that order had been placed'. This should have been enough of a red flag.

I called the middle of the next week to double check on the order. What order? They forgot to place with the manufacturer and said that they would for sure get it placed right away. Several days later I double checked the status and they reported that the order had been sent. I asked the woman who works there what the approximate wait would be and she reported that she didn't know, but ?would call me when they get it'. I asked if she could check with the mfg. and let me know an approximate date, and she said she would find out and call me back. No callback. Each time that I would call them for status (if they picked up the phone ? seems that they do not much of the time) didn't know when the part would be in but they would call me. On one occasion I stopped by the shop to check on status in-person and stood in the shop for about 10 minutes before being greeted. The guy behind the counter had a couple of his shooting buddies in and was too busy chatting with them to help me. I decided to call Olympic Arms the mfg. and see what the story was. They told that they did have a couple in stock of that model at the time of my deposit, but then ran out of stock shortly after. I asked how long it would be before the next batch was machined and ready and their rep said that the longest wait time for that part was 4-6 weeks.

Fifteen weeks later I did not receive any updates from Prairie and called to request my deposit to be refunded. The guy said that he could not refund it, but he would have the other guy who was able to refund take care of it and contact me? again no call. Needless to say they will not get any more of my business.

service. Terrible customer service attitude find yourself another shop to avoid being talked down to. In thi=e current state of the economy shops that hire kids that feel they are better than the customers will not survive
