best doggie day care in town. We tried a few places around town before finding For the Love of Dog, needless to say once we did we never went anywhere else. Great staff, and my dog always leaves happy; well except for the leaving part!
Doggie Wonderland!. A former employee referred me to them. (first good Karma point there) .... I was seeking a refuge for my Golden Retriever puppy while in class all day. My first impression while going through the door (after noting the convenient potty station immediately adjacent to the front entrance) was how clean, fresh smelling :) and attentive Rodrigo was. At that moment I thought, "Hey, this is the place"! You are immediately (if not sooner) greeted, and participate in what I thought was a pretty thorough "in-take" process with regard to your dog's health history and documentation. You do of course get a first class tour of the facilities, after your best friend is led off with tail wagging! Play areas separated according to dog sizes, outside areas with lots of doggy playground equipment. BTW: Only filtered water for Fido too. A good people-to-dog ratio and you get the distinct sense that these folks have it "hooked up" and care about YOUR dog. To top it all off - watch out for the clever and impressive surprise you get when you are a first timer picking up your dog. (Can't say what it is - just TAKE YOUR DOG THERE.) Trust me on this, bohemian gypsies know best.
Love them!. I love For the love of dog. They take great care of dogs and run a wonderful facility. I tell everyone about them and they all agree. I use them for daycare as well as grooming and have always had the best of service. They have also given me excellent referrals for boarding places, since they don't offer that service. This is a place that has been around for years and I trust completely with the care of my baby.
Try elsewhere.
Took my dog there and he was miserable.
I arrived earlier than they expected and I heard the woman who owns the place yelling at a dog; she was mean. Never returned once I witnessed what I feel is an unstable environment.
Fabulous!!. This place is fabulous. I have been taking my dog here for the last few months and I have nothing but great things to say about For the Love of Dog. Rodrigo (the dog trainer on site) has been working with my puppy to complement the training that I do at home and it has made a huge difference. The staff is great and they put a lot of personal attention into each dog. I trust them 100% with my dog. I am so happy to have a place like this; For the Love of Dog has really helped my puppy grow into an incredible dog! They also have a lot of goodies for sale. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Expert Care in a Beautiful place.
For The Love of Dog turned this naive puppy owner into a pro. Because I work so much, I didn't have time to exercise or train my new dog. When I found this daycare it all changed for me and I was so impressed by their knowledge and care. I am now dropping her off 3 days a week and sometimes on Saturdays. There is a man there who is doing training with me and, i know this may sound strange, but we are also doing a treadmill session every week. Now my 11 month old has manners, isn't hyper and is a joy to be around.
I love the place and just wait until you see it! It is so clean, smells great and has everything a dog owner could want. I recommend it to everyone I know with dogs.
First Class Doggy Daycare.
My wife and I searched far and wide before we decided on For the Love of Dog for our 2.5 year old beagle. We're from out of town and wanted a very reputable daycare for two days. Well, FTLD far exceeded our expectations. I was impressed by how much paperwork we needed to complete before letting our dog "go" off. This is a good sign to say the least. It definitely didn't feel like a dump your dog and run facility. We were given an explanation and tour of the doggy daycare. The dogs really looked like they were having a good time as well as the employees. FTLD staff is very professional and experienced with dog handling and care. My wife and I were a little nervous at first, but by the time we walked out the front door and got into the car, our nerves subsided quite a bit.
In addition, FTLD has an amazing selection of doggy supplies and treats, items you really can't find in big box stores like Petsmart or Petco.
We look forward to returning to FTLD soon after our move to Denver.
Always Friendly Customer Service.
I am writing this review in response to the review below from ahunt06 who claims to have had bad service at the daycare. I am employed by For the love of dog and have worked here for 3 years. I am also the one who was helping this woman and have to tell what REALLY happened.
She brought in 2 VERY aggressive boston terriers to be temperament tested. She has already been turned down at 2 daycares, which we only found out after she left. We run a very busy facility with a waiting list every day and have zero tolerance for dogs who are aggressive. We simply don't take them.
Her dogs while being tested not only tried to attack other dogs, they immediately began attacking eachother! Obviously we were not going to accept them at our facility.
She was beligerent and furious and wouldn't let anyone try to explain to her that we could not allow them to stay. She was also rude to 2 of our customers in the lobby.
It's a shame that I have to use this forum to defend our daycare, but it's a total lie to put a review up saying that anyone was rude to her. She simply has aggressive dogs and doesn't want to do anything to help them.
For every one of her there are literally thousands of very happy customers that have never had anything but a great experience at For the love of dog.
The only other negative review we have was written by a very jealous competitor complaining we are so busy. Well, yes we are and there's good reason for it. We have been one of the most popular dog daycares for 5 years and it is because of our great staff and beautiful facility. And yes, because we only have nice, well mannered dogs here. And I'm sure all of our satisfied customers would be relieved to know that we did not allow dogs like hers to attend at our daycare.
Rude. The staff is extremly rude. I was treated badly and when I tried to explain what I was looking for the man I was talking with would not let me finish a single sentance. If you like to be treated like you know nothing about your own dogs then this is the place for you!
Best Dog Daycare in Denver, Paws Down!. For the love of dog is fantastic. They are great with the dogs and great with owners as well. My dog Will comes home happy and well behaved! I never fear that he will play too rough with other dogs at the dog park because I know that the staff at for the love of dog has taught him to play in a non-agressive manner. Another reviewer was so right, for the love of dog is the private school of dog daycares!
