VEGETARIANS DO NOT EAT AT SPICY BASIL ON BROADWAY!!!. I ordered a vegetarian meal and stressed that I was a strict vegetarian, which I always did on the 5-6 occasions that I ordered from Spicy Basil. I will no longer patronize this establishment as my vegetarian meal was contaminated with a pice of chicken. I returned to complain and they said that the cooks use the same pans for meat. They took my information for the owner to contact me, but I never heard from the owner or manager.

This is not a vegetarian friendly restaurant! Vegetarians avoid this place!!!

Spicy Basil Lunch for One. Lunch - Clean & quiet with pleasant music. Interesting art & lighting. Menu options are extensive and very reasonable. Surprised to find no hot teas were available!! Starter of fried vegetarian spring rolls were nothing special - don't waste your $3. Panang curry with white rice was very filling, perfectly scented & spiced. Nice presentation and a large portion.

Attentive and very fast service but expected as restaurant was almost empty at opening time. Water was always full but there was no soy sauce or chili sauce on the table when I arrived.

Take Home - Chicken Pad Thai was very oily but reheated well and had a pleasant sweet flavor.

3 out of 5 stars, would eat there again and take friends.

Great neighborhood secret. From reading the other reviews, it is obvious that the cat is out of the bag on this place. I moved to the Baker neighborhood (the area to the west of this restaurant) a few years and have frequented it ever since. It gets busier and busier, but there is seldom a cumbersome wait. I've brought business associates for casual dinners - as well as my parents and close friends. It's been a h1t with EVERYONE I've brought here. The sake selection is very good (try the Momokowa Pearl if you've never had it), but the beer selection is basically only Asian. Come by here and enjoy some of the best Asian fusion, Thai, and Chinese food in the city!

I honestly could go on raving about all the great dishes - but I'm sure you get the picture by now. Try it . . . you won't be disappointed!

Great food at great price. I came here on a Tuesday evening. Metered parking on the street is free after 6pm. The place is simply furnished--it looks more like a deli or a lunch place than a dinner place. But the food--I can't say enough good things about it. I ordered the spicy basil chicken which was fantastic. Portion size is large--you can easily turn the leftovers into a second meal. Service was good but perhaps a little slow in noticing empty drinks. I will definitely come back here.

Best Thai in Denver. I went there first when I was in Denver visiting friends and we had been up in the mountains skiing all day. Being very hungery usually makes anything taste good, but I've lived around asia for 3 years and have tried just about everything and this place made enough of an impact for me to remember it 2 years later when I moved to Denver. I've since been back many times and often get takeout. I've had better Thai but this is very, very good! Especially for the price I don't think you can get better food in Denver. The portions are generous and I can usually eat at least 2 times from one order and sometimes enough for a 3rd snack. Highly! recommend it for takeout or after a long day when you are starving, or even taking friends from out of town... the decor is nice and offers something to look at unlike most restaurants.
