Irrelevant.
The wait staff lures me back but the manger was irrelevant, pretentious and showy. I hope to see a more relevant and sincere management team here.
Traditional American Steak House offering aged cuts of beef, seafood dishes and gourmet sides. The decor is steril and lack of beauty or distinction. This place went from great to good and now it is average at best . Capital Grille is no longer in the same class as DelFrisco or Sullivant. The capital grille of Denver has NO flash and very little substance
On a positive note: With the opening of Ocean Prime, there will be MORE empty tables.
There are much better options in Denver.
To dine or NOT to dine? it's an easy question to answer here.
Pros: No waiting at the capital grille since there are always emty tables
Cons:Little substance
great service. I've always had really good food and service here. They've got a cool bar and a great wine menu. I'm a big fan of Larimer Square in general, so I'm glad they're located there. This is a good place for dinner and then you can bar hop afterward.
Great for a special occasion or nice cocktail.
Ive been to the Capital Grille for special occasions, business lunches or for a nice cocktail on a week/weekend night. The ambiance is classy but not stuffy and Ive always been treated very well there. My steak of choice would be the Delmonico, a 22oz marinated ribeye with plenty to take home. The lobster bisque is delicious and I cant say enough about the lobster macaroni and cheese or the coconut cream pie.
They are also known for their stoli doli martinis, pineapple thats been soaked in vodka then shaken with ice and poured into a chilled martini glass.
Check it out!
Inconsistent - that's good if you are a gambler. I have had rude treatment here and FABULOUS treatment here. It depends on how much you want to spend (in this economy) for the gamble. Maybe the economy wil have them working at being considerate to ALL patrons on a regular basis. WHAT A CONCEPT !
The Food is Average At best!. I have been to this restaurant several times. Of the times that I have been there, one person had to send their steak back 3 times because is was so horribly undercooked, one person got salmon that honestly tasted worse than any other I have tried and they messed up my salad order....A Salad! There are plenty of steakhouses downtown and this one is the worst, and most expensive. The only good thing about my meal last time, is that someone else paid the bill.
a capital disappointment!.
I love the Capital Grille brand; many great steaks were eaten there at the Boston store. The Denver Capital Grille used to be a a great restaurant when it first opened. The key phrase is used to be................... the steak was cold. Cold! The dining room is so loud you cannot hear the person next to you; perhaps this is why our waiter got our order wrong twice! The whole experience was made worse by all the drunk patrons.
If I am going to pay this kind of money for a steak i expect top service, WARM FOOD OR EVEN HOT and patrons to be civil. The prices are the same but Capital is not in the same ball park as Sullivan's or Delfriscoes or even Ruth's. Again, at those places at least your food is warm and at least not every customer is drunk as a skunk.
Avoid this restaurant until corporate gets some new management; the one in Providence and in Boston is SUPERIOR to this immitator. Is anyone in Corporate paying attention?
Great management. I have to admit that I have only been to the DC location. There, the food and service were excellent. My wife had a less-than-stellar experience at the Denver location a few weeks ago. She complained to the management and was immediately given a gift certificate. This restaurant has already shown us they care about their customers. We?ll be back soon.
great for a special occasion. My husband and I went to Capital Grille for our anniversary and it was a great experience. Every staff member we talked to wished us a happy anniversary. We requested a booth when making the reservation and not only did they give us a booth, they covered the table with rose petals and gave us an anniversary card! The service was phenominal and the food was excellent. To top it all off, we were given THREE complementary desserts as an anniversary gift! They gave us a huge platter with three of their best desserts and didn't charge us at all for them. There were even candles on each of the desserts. They definately went above and beyond our expectations and helped make our anniversary memorable.
Good overall experience.
Excellent Food, Excellent Wine and Excellent Service.
A bit pricey, and the ambiance is loud and not romantic.
don't waste your time or money. we went recently to celebrate a birthday and were completely underwhelmed. citysearch needs to update their reviews.several years ago my review would have been different. it seems that alot has changed at the capital grille. the food was cold, the service was slow and inattentive and overall our experience sub par. the dining room was very loud and there seemed to be a lot of very drunk patrons there. i don't mind paying for a really great dining experience but this one was dismal and way overpriced.
