In Short – Capturing plenty of the royal hauteur its moniker suggests, Monarck seeks to establish itself as Denver's mecca for chic drinks. Although the menu offers a bevy of designer martinis, mojitos and margaritas, it's the setting that's the allure--brilliant lighting creates mood and movement, with lush violet chandeliers complementing the light seeping from floor cracks and wall seams. Patrons fill leather sofas or sidle up to the ruddy river-rock bar.

What to say...? Even for a poser "upscale" pretentious venue this place is a joke. Dead before about 10-11, after then it just gets crowded and you can't sit down. They really need to upgrade their toilet capacities, too small servicing too many people.
I wen't in there expecting tools, overpriced drinks etc. and I wasn't dissapointed. Ridiculous prices for drinks, which I wouldn't have minded so much if they were decent, I expected it, but they where cheap and foul. Pretentious nobodies especially the staff. I mean, you're a bar tender... get over your self.
I really can't think of anything good about this place... Some good looking and well dressed people, some of them seemed ok, but otherwise it's a toolfest. There are much better places to go downtown than this place, trust me.

Lacking class

Small bar - over priced! After reserving a table for 15-20 people got a 3 man table ($2,400 dollars later!) for new years... is this a joke! I am referring to the upstairs bar, which doesn?t even have its own bathroom. Speaking of which, a bar claiming to be upscale like this should have more than 2 stalls and a man jammed in there to turn the water on for you to wash your hands. I can?t wait till this place inevitably goes out of business!

Ghetttooooo.....and mean servers

Stopped in for a pre party drink with my sisters bachlorette party and got tugged at by thugs the entire 13 mins we were there. Gross. Our server was rude and the crowd was WHACK.
- Pros: Door guy was cute...but real rude
- Cons: The crowd made me want to send my kids to private school....

Parking:
It's tough to find street parking. But if you get there early enough, grab a spot in the lot across the street, behind Old Chicago.
Save Money:
Happy hour is Monday-Friday, 4pm-7pm: The drinks are $3 and the vibe is less pretentious.
