Denver >Luciano's Restaurant
Lucianos - DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!.
A fellow employee and I went to Luciano's Pizza and Wings (on Broadway across from Sports Authority) during our brief lunch period on a Saturday. I ordered 1 slice of cheese pizza, and paid for it. Next, My friend ordered 2 slices, one pepperoni, one sausage, a small salad, and a drink, then paid. (one of their "value meals(almost 8 dollars!!") Next, the cashier, after handling our money, went DIRECTLY from the handling the money to the salad prep area- and throws random amounts of each ingredient into a STYROFOAM container with his bare, UNWASHED hands!
At the same time - I am still waiting for my ONE SLICE! (we are the only people in the place who are ordering!) Also, there were at least 4 people working in this small area, so WHY would the cashier make the salad? So my friend asked the cashier why he didn't wash his hands....his response... we always wash our hands....WE WATCHED HIM DO IT! And the funny thing is that right next to his salad prep area was a big box of diposable gloves!!
I could see my slice of pizza sitting under a heat lamp directly next to the cashier. So I asked the cashier what was going on with my slice...He finally grabbed it out of the heat lamp, and gave it to me.(Pizza was burnt, dry, and bland!) I really didn't expect much more at this point.
So..... my friend returned his salad, and they gave him a refund.... but get this!! MINUS A CHARGE FOR THE RANCH DRESSING THAT CAME WITH IT!?!
So he gets his one slice..... and waited for 5 minutes before asking about his slice of sausage pizza. The cashier says that they just put it in the oven and that it would be another 7-8 minutes. We had to leave due to time constraints, so my friend got ripped off pretty bad.
At this point, I asked another employee there who the manager was.
Employee: I am.
Me: Well, who is the owner, then?
Employee: I am.
Me: You are the owner?
Employee: Well.... no - my father is.
I had to drag the answer out of this guy.
Finally he gave me his dad's card... I called his dad(the owner) and complained about our experience. He said he would check it out and call me back.....Guess what? No call back.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME ON THIS PLACE! There are plenty of much better pizza places in the city..Do yourself a favor!
best i have has in a long time. since moving to denver i have found this place to be the best. every weekend i order from there while at work. there subs are fantastic and the pizza is awsome. the people who write the bad reveiws do not even eat there. they must get off at writing bogus reviews on good places. get a life. i would say definetly try this place.
Not great, not bad, average.
Luciano's turned out to be a rather ordinary pizza joint. The food held it's own but nothing screamed out, "This is the best *anything* I've ever had!" The pizza was good, but a little bit too thick for my tastes. True NY-style lovers, I'd advise to try somewhere else. If you like a thicker, more chewy crust, then this joint might be perfect for you.
Also had the hot buffalo wings. I can't say anything bad about them. The wings had a good amount of meat on them, sauce was buffalo sauce, and bleu cheese dressing is pretty standard most anywhere in the Mile High City. They weren't rediculously priced either so I felt like I got what I paid for and the wings would be worth eating again.
The only big downsides were the wait and music selection. I went in during the middle of the week and I was one of two patrons in the restaurant. The other guy already had his food. My food took a bit longer than I was expecting to wait. Just shy of 30 mins for a pizza at a slow service time. That's pretty unacceptable. Also, the music blasting on the radio was a bit obnoxious. Rap and hard rock music certainly don't bother me in a private setting, but for a restaurant, it's a bit offensive hearing cussing-laced lyrics blasting on the speakers. It certainly isn't a family-friendly setting but for a guys night, there were some large flat screens to watch your favorite sports on.
Not as good as it once was.
The food qualtiy has gotten worse. Some of my favorite menu items now make me sick. The service is not dependable. Some of the new staff is okay but all the familiar faces are gone.
Even the wing sauce recently smelled bad...not good for a place that prides themselves on their wings and even market their own wing sauce but couldn't be bothered to open one of the $6 bottles when we complained about the sauce one night. We were told they were using a substitute because they were out of their own. I saw many bottles for sale, what's up with that? Selling us something that wasn't their own.
Used to recommend this place but I cannot do this any more.
worst pizza in the history of the universe. The positive reviewers of this place have to be employees who are, I?m sure, forced at gunpoint to write a bogus positive review as a pre requisite to employment. This place was without a doubt the worst pizza place I have ever ordered from. If I could give it zero stars I would. I cannot even believe this place is still in business. I don't even know how you burn a pizza on the bottom and undercook it on top? The sauce tasted like ketchup and the cheese tasted like paper. This was an hour in my life I will never get back and now I?m sure I will be haunted for the rest of my life because of this experience. Please Please Please don?t ever order from this place. The sooner people realize how bad this place is the sooner it will be out of business. For the love of God stay far far away.
Bad Experience. We had a very bad experience and would not recommend this restaurant. The crust on our pizza and calzone was completely burned on the outside and doughy and uncooked on the top and inside. In addition the food was just tasteless. We called to complain to the manager and they seemed entirely disinterested in our complaint and did not have any apologizes or show concern for our experience. Would not recommend this to anyone - pizza hut would be better.
Great Pizza and Wings, great value!. I don't know what one of the reviewers was talking about! Gross wings??? I've been to Luciano's several times, and I've never had bad food. The wings are average to large in size, and the sheet of pizza/bucket of wings is the way to go! Lots of food for $40. The cheese on the pizza is plentiful, and is very tasty. They make a very tasty pizza, and I'd say their wings are on par with my other favorite wing venues. I recommend Luciano's to all of my friends, and the staff has always been good. A must try in Denver!
Gross Pizza and Wings. I can think of a thousand places that have better wings. They use Frank's Red Hot as their "special" wing sauce. Their "special" bleu cheese comes out of a jar. The pizza sauce is made from tomato paste and water. The food just isn't original or authentic and they charge an arm and a leg for a pie. I would never eat there again and hope everyone boycotts the place.
Right on the Money. My husband is from Buffalo and he says that these wings are 100% authentic and that the Pizza is traditional Buffalo-style pizza, a little bit of thicker crust which is cruncy on the outside and soft on the inside. Let us recommend the Sicilian White. Absolutely great food at great prices, if you are looking for a pizza/wing fix.
Best in Denver. These are the best Wings in Denver. No one can compete with these wings. The best pizza in Denver also. I am sick of the thin crust the is gourmet. The best value also.... A sheet pizza and Fifty wings for $40.
