In Short – This little sweaty venue has played host to some of Denver's most beloved acts, as well as the latest tours. With bands like Slim Cessna's Auto Club and the Railbenders and the blistering Reno Divorce, this is one venue that remembers what rock is all about. Local rock scenesters file in for the music and the daily bar specials, then stay for the food. Grilled grub includes burgers and buffalo chicken wraps.

Bender's it Rock and Roll sissy

by The Dutch at Citysearch

This is a rock and roll bar, not your lodo club. I like going to a place where i dont see 50 dudes all wearing two polo shirts with their collars popped up having a bro -tastic time. The music does'nt just come from the juke box.....or some one spinin on their I-pod. You get live raw music, local favorites, and cold drinks. Shake and Bake

  • Pros: great place to be with great owners
  • Cons: only open till 2

worst night I've ever had in Denver!

by flightgirl512 at Citysearch

My friends and I finally had a night off from school and ended up at Bender's. In short, the girl in charge of karaoke "Alison" was incredibly rude to my friends, basically calling them stupid because they couldn't find the paper to write their request on. The owners were very helpful, spoke to Alison and eventually ended up firing her, and offered to buy us drinks. My friends finally got on stage to sing and Alison proceded to announce into the microphone that they had better be good and that they were the ones that got her fired. After that everyone in the bar was yelling at us and saying that we ruined the night. We finally left, and on the way out this guy actually told us that we shouldn't have come there in the first place and why didn't we just stay at a bar in LoDo where we belonged. People were even trying to start fights with us outside! I'm appalled at how rude and un-welcoming these people were, not to mention judgmental!! I will never go back to this establishment again!

  • Pros: owners were nice/helpful
  • Cons: karaoke girl, the crowd

Nothing special..

by peachburrito at Citysearch

Sure, I frequent dark, dive bars.. no problem there. There is just nothing special about it. If you are looking for a place that serves cheap beer.. this is one of many bars in Denver that do just that. Yawn!

  • Pros: Cheap Beer
  • Cons: Not very interesting..
